Ibrahim Larmorde has presented cheques worth over N34 million to families of departed staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC Boss, while lamenting the inevitability of death, reasoned that; “we owe the families they left behind our widow’s mite to help alleviate whatever hardship they may face over the loss of their loved ones”.
Larmorde presented the cheques today at the Abuja head office of the Commission to representatives of the families of Alhassan Mathew, Nandir Daniel, Sunday Owai, and Enoma Orishemola who died in the course of their duties.
The representatives of the bereaved families who were presented cheques include, Danlami Mathew who received N10 million, Raymond Ponfa; N4 million, Daniel Sunday; N13 million, and Doris Enoma; N6 million.
21 year old Danladi Mathew the son of deceased Mobile Police Inspector Alhassan Mathew, told pressmen that the gesture by the EFCC goes a long way to show that his father did not die in vain.
The four deceased staff of the anti graft agency whose families were presented cheques today, died between June 2010 and January 2011.
