Police Diffuse Bombs In Mubi

Police in Adamawa on Friday diffused two heavy Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) planted on a road side in Mubi, Adamawa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bomb packed in a ``Ghana must go'' bags were planted on pedestrian sidewalk at Kabang junction on Ahmadu Bello Way, Mubi.

The bombs were planted few metres away from the scene of the Monday night attack on a military patrol vehicle, where a police inspector, a soldier and three other persons were killed.

NAN reports that a special anti-bomb squad of the police were deployed to the area and succeeded in diffusing the bombs at about 2 p.m..

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) in Adamawa, Mr Nemuel Yoila, an ASP, confirmed the incident.

Yoila said the police had diffused the bombs and no casualties were recorded during the exercise. (NAN)
