Condemnations have continued to trail the tweet and retweet by the controversial former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, on Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. This is so because despite his apology El-Rufai later said there is nothing wrong with the tweet.
The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and Methodist Church advised that el-Rufai should be rebuked seriously to avoid a repeat of such 'stupid behaviour'.
The religious leaders, in a chat with Punch, warned that the remark could set the country on fire.
Mallam El-Rufai had later tweeted: "To those who see clearly, whose minds are not clouded by sheer religiosity, there is nothing insulting about the tweet.”
Dr. Musa Asake, General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, also said the former minister should be brought “to justice on account of his incitement and insult against the Christian faith.”
“With this retweet, CAN believes that El-Rufai is set on a war path with the millions of Christians in Nigeria. We must state that unlike others, Christians do not shed blood, take life, kill or maim others at the slightest provocation,” he said.

El-Rufai is only telling us what he had always had in mind. Apology or not, it doesn't make any difference. But come to think of it, he has nothng to loose in an event of a major religious war. Himself and his family will be safe somewhere. He made enough money in govt to ensure he becomes UNTOUCHABLE.
