A gunman involved in an eight-hour 'armed siege' posted messages on Facebook saying he would kill police officers outside his house.
Greg Searle, 35, was today jailed for two years for threatening police on the website after telling his 400 friends, 'I give you live murder on Facebook' at his house in Chepstow, South Wales.
He added: 'Bet you sick freaks can't wait for me to make my move so you can watch.'
At one stage Searle updated his Facebook page to say: 'I’ve left my grenade somewhere, I think it’s still in the car.'
Cardiff Crown Court heard how Searle’s mother had called police after he started acting strangely.
Prosecutor David Elias said: 'Four officers arrived at Searle’s house to find him leaning out of the window pointing the gun at them.
'He was shouting incomprehensibly and they took cover and called for an armed response team.'
The specialist unit arrived in bulletproof vests and attempted to negotiate with Searle.
