Sometimes when I'm driving to my office in the Federal Capital Territory and the President of my country, Nigeria, is coming from or going to the airport, security personnel will compel me and other road users to stand-still until Mr President and his long entourage have all gone through.
But newsmen observed that the reverse is the case in countries where political leaders can not take their people for granted.
The authorities in London have closed several roads in the city to ensure a smooth Olympics.
And guess what? The road-close policy is affecting many top political office holders, including the UK Prime Minister. The leaders have to take public transport to work just like all other citizens....
Can this ever happen in Nigeria?
