Gunmen suspected of belonging to the Boko Haram Islamic sect last night killed nine persons in the northeastern town of Damaturu in Yobe state.Patrick Egbuniwe, head of the police in Yobe, confirmed the killings by suspected extremists by phone today from Damaturu, the state capital.
