Police arrest suspected killers of patient at FMC Asaba

MEN of the Delta State Police Command, said they arrested a key member of gang, which participated in the alleged killing of a patient at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Asaba in July last year.

The suspected killer, according to the State Police command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, was arrested in Bayelsa State. He said, “Concerning the killing at FMC last year by gunmen, police have arrested the fourth suspect in Bayelsa State; three are already in court.

Also at Agbor, a man 45 year old man killed the wife after mutilating the head with matchet. The man did not adduce any reason for his callous action, claiming that he realised his dastardly action after killing her.

He (husband) later inflicted cuts on his head to defend himself.” It will be recalled that pandemonium had broken out at FMC, Asaba, sometimes in July last, when two men dressed in mobile policemen uniform invaded the Centre and shot dead one of the patients on his sick bed. Also injured in the process was a Staff Nurse, who was hit at the thigh by a stray bullet. The mission of the policemen was not immediately ascertained as at press time.
