The acting Inspector General of Police Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar said the eight Christians arrested attempting to bomb their church in Miya Barkatai, Toro Local Government Area in Bauchi State, are being interrogated by the police.
Police and witnesses said the suspects were arrested with sophisticated weapons. They came from neighbouring villages near Miya Barkatai. The suspected bombers are Lamba Goma, Filibus Danasa, Joshua Ali, Danjuma Sabo, Joseph Audu, Simon Gabriel, Bulus Haruna, Yohanna Ishaya and Daniel Ayuba.
The IG said the suspected bombers were being “interrogated in Abuja and facts were obtained from them. We will take appropriate actions and charge them to court after investigations.”
The bombers were arrested on February 26, when they came with explosive devices and tried to set them off in the COCIN Church but they were overpowered by locals who handed them to security men.
