FEMALE ROBBERY SUSPECT DELIVERS TWINS IN PRISON

Theresa Francis, an armed robbery suspect, from Ibusa in Delta State, who was remanded in Agbor prison months ago, has been delivered of a set of twins. Agbor prison officials, who confirmed her delivery on Saturday to Journalists, said her husband who also hails from Ibusa had since abandoned her in prison because of the offence for which she was held.

Below is how Theresa, a dealer in baby wears, was arrested...

She claimed that she boarded a vehicle on Benin-Agbor Express way with three male passengers already in the vehicle. As the journey progressed, the vehicle was stopped by men of the police high way patrol. Police report, however, indicated that as soon as the three male occupants saw the police team, they escaped into the bush, leaving Theresa and the driver in the vehicle.

As a result, the Police searched the vehicle and uncovered arms and ammunition in the vehicle for which Theresa and the driver were promptly arrested. During interrogation, newsmen learnt that the driver claimed he was hired by Theresa and the three men who escaped.

But Theresa denied the allegation, insisting she knew nothing about any operation. “I am not a thief, how can I be pregnant and go for robbery?” she argued. Mrs. Stella Oboh, President of a Civil Society group in the State, has appealed to the authorities to look into her case for the sake of her babies.
