I Am Now Ready To Surrender The Bribe –Farouk Lawan

In the last one week, many Nigerians have wondered when the embattled chairman of the House of Reps Ad-hoc committee which probed the fuel subsidy scam, Farouk Lawan, will stop singing different songs in the bribery scandal hanging on his neck.

After series of denials and bulk-passing,newsmen can confirm that Mr. Integrity has "finally agreed" that $500,000 bribe money from Femi Otedola is indeed with him and is ready to submit it to the Special Task Force but with some conditions.

His decision was as a result of intense pressures from the leadership of the House as well as the point-blank denial by Hon. Adams Jagaba, chairman of the House committee on Financial Crimes, that Farouk never gave him any money.

Newsmen gathered that he has spent part of the money (and also settled some people) but Farouk told investigators that he would surrender the complete $500,000 he personally collected by the end of this week, in the presence of witnesses, include his lawyers - Mike Ozhekome (SAN) and Israel Olorundare.

The balance of $120,000 was collected by Boniface Emenalo, who has also been ordered by the CP Ali Ahmodu-led Special Task Force to report on Friday with the money in he collected from Mr. Otedola.
