UNBELIEVABLE! Farouk Lawan Also Took N11bn Bribe From Marketers

Wonders, they say, shall never end. The gargantuan bribery scandal involving the Chairman of the House of Representatives ad-hoc Committee on fuel subsidy, Farouk Lawan and members of the committee got messier on Tuesday.

From what newsmen learnt from top security sources, the Nigeria Police Force is also investigating another N11bn bribe that Farouk and others collected from marketers to give them a soft landing in their controversial report. It was gathered that a member of the committee who was not happy with the entire bribery deal from the beginning disclosed to investigators that Farouk and some members of the committee solicited bribes totalling N11bn from some oil marketing firms.

The member, who might also stand as witness, also explained how the money was shared. Following the magnitude of evidence before it, the Nigeria Police sent an invite to Farouk Lawan but the lawmaker did not honour the invitation to appear before the panel on Tuesday.

A source told newsmen that they are observing his body language and if it becomes obvious that he is unnecessarily delayed, then he will be arrested. newsmen was told by a dependable source that Femi Otedola had submitted the video and audio tapes of his encounter with Lawan and other members of the committee to investigators.

According to the source, Otedola “is angry that Lawan is telling barefaced lies. So, he decided that since Lawan claimed that he had written the police about the case, the best thing was for him to submit the tapes to the police,” a source said.
