A cleric, Prophet Polycap Iroagba, founder of Train of Praise Ministry Incorporated, Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State was on Tuesday night, shot dead by yet-to-be identified gunmen.
His wife, simply identified as Victoria, was abducted by the gunmen and her whereabout was yet to be known at the time of filing this report.
Nigerian Tribune gathered on Tuesday night that the gunmen invaded the cleric’s church last Sunday shortly before the commencement of service and pumped hot leads into his body.
“The assailants waited patiently for their target and on arrival at the church premises in his Sports Utility vehicle alighted only to be shot severally by the gunmen”, a source said.
It was gathered that the gunmen later forced the wife into their car and sped off the scene of the incident throwing members of the church into confusion.
It would be recalled that the Delta State Head of Service (HOS) Mr. Okey Ofili, was also shot the same day by gunmen in an abduction attempt in Asaba.
Mr Ofili, was shot in the leg but escaped from the kidnappers because of the intervention of policemen attached to a new generation bank in the state’s capital.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Charles Muka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) confirmed the incident.
