Woman Who Gave Birth To Quadruplets Resorts To Begging

A woman who gave birth to quadruplets in Lagos has turned to alms begging in order to cater for the babies. The dark skinned woman, who is believed to be Hausa and in her 30s was seen at Oshodi Bus Stop on Thursday around 10:00a.m.

begging for alms. It was gathered that she had the babies about two months ago and is being assisted with the babies by two young girls. The woman stays beside a tree along Isolo, Cele-Ijesha Road motor park from about 7:00a.m. and usually leaves when the sun becomes intense.

She was seen feeding the babies with a plastic container probably because she could not afford to buy feeding bottles. Passersby were seen handing her money as the sight of the babies evoked sympathies. It was learnt that the woman’s husband was aware of the situation but could not do anything hence, his disappearance. Her assistants often help her with the other babies as she attends to the others.

They are also Hausa. Sympathisers appealed to the Lagos State government to come to the aid of the lady, saying no amount of alms could adequately take care of the four babies. Some even said they were sure that the woman was feeding the babies with a local baby food called Kunu (a kind of milk made from soya beans).
