The commissioner for information and startegy in the state, Chinedu Offor made the announcement on behalf of Okorocha.
The local government executives who earlier got an injunction restraining the state government from sacking them from office were jolted by the new announcement.
Some of them said they would have another day in court with the governor.
However, we gathered that the reason the local government chairmen were sacked was the conviction on the part of the state government that their tenure expired on 8 August 2012.Offor, who spoke on behalf of the state government echoed this point.
Last Week, the LG chairman went to court and obtained an order restraining the state government from dissolving them.
There will be another hearing at the Oweeri High Court to decide when the LG chairman actually expires.
A source close to the state house said “The LG chairmen want to be in office, enjoy all the benefits while they continue to seek injuction upon injuctions.
What if the court rules that their tenue has indeed elapsed. Will they pay back all the benefits. They should step aside pending the determination of the suit”
