According to Channels TV, a member of the House of Representatives in Nigeria, Honourable Igariwey Onwe has sued President Muhammadu Buhari for granting a bailout to states, insisting that the decision was ‘unconstitutional, null and void’.

Hon. Igariwey filed the case with the Abuja High Court on Wednesday and is seeking to establish whether the President can by way of fiat, call for the appropriation and disbursement of public revenue from the distributable pool account to the Federal, State and Local Governments, without prescription from the National Assembly. Our President Buhari recently approved a N400 billion bailout package to enable states pay salaries to their workers.

Joined in the suit alongside President Buhari are the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice and the Federal Ministry of Finance. Others are the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, the Accountant General of the Federation and Auditor General of the Federation.

  1. Farida Waziri, former EFCC Boss called House of Reps 'House of scandal' for their self-serving acts and monumental corruption, and now are on recess for petty reasons that add nothing to gerenal well-being of Nigerians, and at the same time wants the President to recourse to them in absentia, while doing his good deeds. Even the law they are rooting for upholds justice, fairness and equity, which are far from their motive, mannerism and conduct. Meanwhile, they have not condemned their evil Governor-masters that owed the innocent and unsuspecting civil servants, as a clear indication they don't have the interest of Nigerian masses at heart.

But by the time all this is over, Nigerians would disdain them to the point of cutting their excesses and waste down to a unicameral National Assembly, where they would have less relevance as God continues to deal with them in Jesus nane. Amen.
