Buhari Appoints New INEC Chairman(photo)

President Buhari has appointed Professor Mahmud Yakubu as new  INEC Chairman.The appointment was confirmed at the emergency council of state meeting held today October 21st by the President.Sokoto State Governor Tambuwal said the appointment of new INEC boss is in line with relevant provision of 1999 constitution Yakubu takes over from Amina Zakari who is now the INEC commissioner representing North-West.

Yakubu was former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund. Other INEC Commissioners appointed by the council of state includes
•Dr Antonla Taiye Okoosi -North-central
•Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo -North-east
•Dr Mohammed Mustafa -South-south
