Why Jonathan lost presidential election- Asari-Dokubo Explains

According to the Daily Post, Former Niger-Delta militant leader, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, gave his opinions as to why Former President Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential elections to Buhari. He has said the 2015 general elections were the most rigged in Nigeria. He spoke on Sunday in Owerri, where he graced the Biafra Day celebration. He said figures clearly showed differnet levels of manipulation.“The elections were not free and fair. Also, the stage was set to manipulate the elections”, he said.

Dokubo blamed the activities of Boko Haram insurgents on leaders from the Northern section of the country, mostly the Northern Muslims. He recalled that the elites in the zone vowed to make the polity unstable and ungovernable for ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan. He, however, blamed Jonathan’s loss on the use of card readers. Our brother, Goodluck Jonathan refused to listen to us. To him, the life of any Nigerian was not worth his election or ambition.

“For us, that was an abdication of his duties as President because we were also involved in the elections and we wanted a free and fair elections”, Dokubo said.He wondered why Jonathan, who could not vote even after four card readers were used, did not stop the election.

“That was the time Dr. Jonathan ought to have taken action and stopped the fraud that INEC called an election.

We’ll Resume Our Struggle if Buhari 'Draws First Blood' - Asari Dokubo says

Former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo says he and other militants will resume their struggle for the region should the Buhari administration  "draw the first Blood". Asari said this while speaking at the Annual Major Isaac Adaka Boro’s Memorial Public Event which held yesterday May 17th.

"Yes, a new government begins in Nigeria and a next phase of our struggle shall begin also. Jonathan Goodluck Presidency was like a restraining order now that restraint is lifted. However, we will watch and wait, let them draw the first blood and we shall determine our best way forward. Truly Nigeria will never be the same again the future is pregnant.

Should Buhari whom like pharaoh has determined in his heart to turn desolate the Niger Delta region, draw the first blood by undermining certain interest of the region then begin the systemic arrest, maiming and murder our comrades, continue the confiscation of our rights to self-determination and treat the region as a conquered region, then it may be honourable for some of us to die in prison or in the field of war as nobody is afraid of him. Let it be known that we were not defeated. It was Jonathan and his party that lost an election. We as a people, indeed the Niger Delta region alongside the Igbos were never defeated. We collectively rejected the born to rule and supremacist agenda which some of our brothers as field slaves and taskmasters supported yet their number shows that they are of little consequence, we must however not take them for granted"he said
According to him, their struggle and agitation was never about to become the President of Nigeria but about freedom from what he described as "false and forced colonial union"

"He, Jonathan Goodluck, was never in the struggle. He was not a product of the struggle but an establishment beneficiary of our struggle. Our struggle is not and never about becoming the president. It was not about being awarded oil licenses and mouth-watering contracts. It was not about massive infrastructural development of the Niger Delta Region. It was not about high scale appointments employment and empowerment. It was never about interventionist programmes and projects. Our struggle indeed is about our collective freedom from a false and forced colonial union that has remained divided and un-integrated. It is about our being conferred a slave status and seen as a conquered people who must exist at the mercy of the overloads and supremacist class using our own brothers as taskmasters against us in a Nigerian union. Our status in the Nigerian enterprise remains that of a conquered people living a slave and prisoners status. This is the collective identity we have as a people. Whether you are rich, poor, high, low, big, mighty or small, no matter how well dressed, well fed a slave or a prisoner his, he remains a slave and a prisoner who constantly lives at the mercy and dictates of others with his contributions and consent of no consequence. This is why we must now than ever stand up like the Scottish to determine our going forward for our platforms and reject our oppressors. This will not come easy"he  said.

Ex- Niger Delta militant and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) Mujahid Asari Dokubo has described the new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as a dog.
Asari took to his Facebook page to post a photo of a turbaned dog with the caption, "This is how I see Sanusi Lamido Sanusi."

He also tweeted a congratulatory message to the All Progressive Congress, APC on their new Emir while also wondering if the late Emir died a natural death.
Asari is one of the supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan's government, which Sanusi is at loggerheads with.
On the same wall where he uploaded the pictures, he was insulted and slammed by his Facebook friends for disrespecting Islam and the Emir.

Gov Shettima Replies Asari Dokubo On Chibok Scam

Kashim Shettima the governor of Borno State has replied Asari Dokubo who has been insisting that the abduction of Chibok girls was sham which was staged by the governor and his party, the APC, to destroy President Jonathan's administration.
In a statement on Monday by his spokesperson, Isa Gusau, Shettima described Niger Delta activist and ex-militant as a joker who no reasonable Nigerian takes serious, adding that he is too serious minded to give him audience.

“How can Governor Shettima reply a jester, how can he respond to such a play by Asari that falls far below the standard of Nollywood when he is busy working very hard with all relevant bodies finding ways on how to secure the freedom of his and Borno’s precious daughters in captivity?” Gasau said.

According to the statement, Asari changes tune all the time. He was said to be speaking against President Jonathan sometime last year and now he is for the President, while claiming that he is one of those creating negative impression about the presidency.

Gasau said he won't be surprised if by next week, Asari leads another rally in support of the Chibok girls as he uses the media for personal interest and some sort of blackmail."He is just a joke, no reasonable Nigerian takes him serious. He wants to be regarded as a hero but I tell you that no one sees him as such in the Niger Delta that I had covered. He is trying to force unwilling public to see him different from who he is but like a say goes, ‘you can fool some people all the time, you can fool all the people sometime but you cannot fool all the people all the time" Gasau added.

Gov Shettima's spokesperson said the Isaac Boro event which attracts a large crowd was dubiously used by Asari to push his agenda forward so that it would seem like seem like a support base for his isolated opinion.
In the governor's opinion, Asari must have assembled his immediate and extended family members who he gave placards that looked like a sort of Mickey Mouse scene in cartoon series, adding that one person wrote on all the placards as the writing seemed the same.

Gasau also warned the presidency to distance its self from Asari, saying the earlier he does this, the quicker Asari's childish views would stop and not do further damage to those he tries to please.
