This Government Will Make Nigeria Great Again - Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

 The vice-president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo today attended the 33rd Holy Ghost Convention of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries in Ibadan, headed by Bishop Wale Oke, where he spoke about the nation and assured Nigerians again that their government will make this nation great again.
 Osinbajo said it is too early to rate the president and himself in office now, but one thing he assures all is that this country will be great for us all to enjoy.

“I think that the nation has high expectations and I know that things are just getting better by the day. I believe that by the grace of God, all of those expectations and beyond will be met. So, we are looking forward to more exciting times and great things for this nation.

“We can’t talk about a policy direction in one year but am sure you heard the President’s speech on the economy and what to expect in the next few days. I hope we all heard what we’ve said about the economy especially what we intend to do in the area of agriculture, infrastructure, power, roads; so much has to be done. A lot of work to be done in the next few months, so we will see a lot.” Continue,,.

Speaking about his nomination back then as the vice-president, he recalled that a lot of pastors and general overseers wanted to know why he agreed to run for such a position….

“A meeting of men of God was called by Bishop Oke and they wanted to understand why it was that I was running for office and they wanted to ask questions about the threat of Islamisation. They needed answers.

“After I answered the questions, they began to support the effort. They decided that they have heard enough and they were convinced that what the Lord was about to do was something that will make a difference in this country.

“I am happy they have not been disappointed. God fulfilled the promise and we won the election.

“Winning an election and being the Vice President is nothing. The most important thing is that God has said that we must be the light of the world. All the accolades and prestige of my office cannot compare with the duty that God has given us to be true disciples.

“I pray that God will help me and the President to truly do the work. With the prayers of Nigerians, we will see a change, prosperity and all of us will enjoy this nation,” he said.

There is Nobody Who Will be Above The Law in Nigeria - Yemi Osinbajo

Leave a Comment

 Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said on Wednesday the Muhammadu Buhari administration would not spare anyone who went against the law as it would propagate the rule of law in all its programmes.

He said this when officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers paid him a visit at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. Osinbajo said;

"There is nobody who will be above the law in Nigeria, no matter who you are. You cannot use party. You cannot use the association; you cannot use position in government. Nobody is above the law.

 That is the first move and I want us to support that. Let us not say that if a person, who is one of our own, is being held to account for his wrong-doing, so long as the person is being held to account according to law, we must not support such a person. We must say ‘let the law take its course’. That is how good societies are run, there is no other way. If we see fairness, let us describe it as fairness; let us support what is right and good for our country. And our country is going to call upon us time and time again. We are the elite of this country. There is no other elite. You can’t look anywhere else for elite."

The Vice President added that the NURTW was an important stakeholder in the road transport network with as much national outlook as the Nigerian Army. He said that the union was one of the few associations with the grassroots in its reach because most Nigerians could access it. He said the union had a great role to play in national development.

 During the presidential media chat yesterday evening, when asked to clarify his statement "Stealing is not corruption", president Jonathan said he made the statement quoting the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Mustafa, who explained to him that his analysis of corruption cases in Nigeria showed that most of the cases tagged as corruption were theft. President Jonathan said that referring to stealing as corruption minimizes the crime. "Ole (thief in Yoruba) should be called Ole and given that treatment. Let us communicate properly. The word corruption, we have abused it." GEJ said. .
