According to reports, five churches, including COCIN, EYN and Deeper Life Bible Church, in Kwada village about 10 kilometres from Chibok town, were on Sunday attacked by Boko Haram insurgents.

The attackers, targeted the time when worshipers were ready for the Sunday Service. They killed and burnt houses after attacking worshipers in five churches in Kwada; after that, they advanced to Kautikari, less than 8 kilometres to Chibok town, whey they equally killed people and destroyed properties.

“I’m not sure security agencies have gone to rescue the villagers, but I learnt that the insurgents are still in pursuit of the remaining villagers”, Mallam Yahi told correspondent.

It was gathered that residents of Chibok town have also fled their homes, following the news of the attacks in Kwada and Kautikari.

It is recalled that few weeks ago, there was panic in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, following a letter purportedly written to them by the sect members.

A top local government official in Chibok town, who did not want his name in print revealed this to newsmen in Maiduguri the Borno State capital on Sunday.

According to him, when they met the police with the letter, they were assured of maximum protection.

He, however, said the police were also complaining of fuel for their vehicle.

He said the local government had also assured the security operatives that they were going to buy fuel for them.

He said, “whenever Boko Haram members tell you that they are coming, they never fail to come". Our fears now is that we don’t know when and how they are going to come.

“We are calling for prayers as well as on government to provide us with adequate security in Chibok”.

On the ongoing attacks in the area, it was gathered that a police officer, Peter Maina was called out during Sunday service in Church in Maiduguri, to be informed that his brother was killed at Kwada.

Meanwhile, the Chibok Community in Maiduguri broke into a session of prayer on Sunday after receiving the news of ongoing attacks on the two villages. Source

How Boko Haram Paid Me N2,000 To Burn Houses – Chibok Boy Reveals

If N2000(less than £10) can be used to motivate a youth to burn houses, then the security issues in Nigeria might linger for a long time to come. Leaders steal money that would have been used to provide quality jobs, good education etc for the youth, then stranded youth then commit crimes just to make ends meet. That's the pitiable circle we have in Nigeria.
A young man in Borno is said to have confessed that he was paid by Boko Haram members to burn houses in a village in the state.
Ibrahim Tilitili, an indigene of Chibok, where over 200 girls were abducted, said that he was paid N2,000 to burn down a few houses at Mandara Girau village in the Biu Local Government Area of the state.
Ibrahim allegedly confessed that he received the money from one Mallam Sani who told him to burn the houses.
Nigerian Eye reports:
According to residents of the village, Ibrahim had succeeded in setting ablaze three houses and scare the people of the village who started running for their lives to safe heaven before some brave young men pounce on him, when they realized, it was a lone attack.
On realizing that, he was somebody they know in the village, they wanted to killed him, but some elders intervene and he was arrested and taken to Sarkin Baka- renown hunter in Biu town, where he made confession that, he was actually paid by Mallam Sani who is also resident of the village to set those houses ablaze.
Our Correspondent learnt that, after he was interrogated by Vigilante leader (Sarkin Baka) in Hausa language and made the confession, he led the men who arrested him to his paid master, who was also arrested and handed over to police in Biu town.
