SAVE A SOUL:Boy needs N3m for open heart surgery

Master Chudubem Godswill Tom, 13 months old, has a congenital heart defect. His parents, Mr. Abochi and Mrs. Ngozi Tom, from Ariam-Eluelu in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State have appealed to Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, to help fund their son’s open heart surgery in India. The distressed mother disclosed that all arrangements has been concluded for Tom’s open heart operation in India but, cried that securing the N3million (three million naira) needed has remained a great challenge.

Narrating what the baby has passed through since birth, the mother said Tom’s life has been that of pains. “Three days after birth, we discovered he had jaundice. So I took him to Airforce Hospital, Ikeja. Tests were conducted on him and we were told he had a heart condition. So, we were advised to take him to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital(LASUTH).

The doctors there said the same thing. “From there he was referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). There, he was admitted for five days. Since then till date, we’ve been visiting LUTH and my baby has been on medication and we buy the drugs every two weeks. In December 2010, an echo test was run on him.” Continuing, she said their search for funds has taken them to Governor Theodore Orji.

“We do not know who to run to for this help except God, of which we believe He can use anyone to save our son’s life, as He has been using people in other areas.” “We believe Governor Orji sincerely wants to help. But then, we can’t just sit and watch our son die. This is why we have come to beg Nigerians to please not allow death snatch away our joy.

We know Nigerians will not allow our son continue to pass through this pain. So, please, for God’s sake, in anyway people can, let them show some milk of kindness towards little Tom,” she said. Tom’s medical report from LUTH, signed by Associate Professor/Consultant Paediatrician, Dr. C. A. N. Okoromah, stated: “We have enjoyed surgical outcomes for our patients treated at the MOIT Hospital and we are referring Tom to the same hospital.” Note: You may reach Mr. and Mrs. Abochi Tom through Diamond Bank Account number 002 392 2906. NURSE FOUND DEAD AFTER 5 COSMETIC SURGERIES IN A MONTH

Susannah Bone was not happy with how she looked.

So the mum-of-two, 45, had repeat ops including three bouts of botox, lip enhancement and a high tech treatment for facial veins.

Two days after she had the last session she was found dead slumped on her sofa after suffering a severe bout of vomiting the previous day, an inquest into her death heard.

Cops broke into her flat in Thame, Oxon, after being contacted by worried relatives who had not heard from her.

The inquest in Oxford heard Ms Bone had been suffering severe depression for more than ten years after first developing post-natal depression following the birth of her second son Jonathan.

The divorcee's mum Jean Daish questioned whether she had suffered a negative reaction to the cosmetic procedures when coupled with the high dose of anti-depressant medication she was on.

The final treatment Ms Bone had was "bombardment" of facial veins with intense pulsed light which is designed to remove broken facial capillaries.

Pathologist Dr Aron Szuts said he had not been able to determine a cause of death but said there was no evidence to suggest the procedures had played a part.

Coroner for Oxfordshire Nicholas Gardiner recorded an open verdict.

However Mrs Daish said after the inquest: "She had five beauty treatments in the month before she died. The day after one of them she was vomiting all day for 12 hours.

"Could she have had a reaction from the medication?

"She was naturally beautiful. I was horrified when she told me she was having these beauty treatments.

"She had no need to have them done but she did it to build up her self-confidence."

Detective Constable Richard Josie said the scene found in the flat suggested the death had been unexpected as she had settled in front of the TV to watch a Harry Potter DVD.

Mr Gardiner said: "The cause of death is simply unknown, it is unascertained.

"It is difficult to say whether it was simply a natural event, hearts do sometimes stop for no reason.

"I have to record an open verdict."

A fake cosmetic surgeon set up shop in Miami Gardens, Florida, then proceeded to inject everything but the kitchen sink into his patient's rear ends.

30-year old transgender woman, Oneal Ron Morris, is accused of injecting cement, mineral oils and fix-a-flat into the buttocks of at least one woman. He then sealed the incision with super glue.

The not-yet-identified victim became seriously ill, and had to be hospitalized with a staph infection (MRSA) and pneumonia.

Cement was one of the chemicals Morris injected into his victim

“This cocktail of chemicals went into her body and caused her terrific pain," said Sgt. Bill Bamford.

Morris, who also injected himself with the chemicals has been arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license and causing bodily harm.

The victim in the case paid $700 for the procedure and is lucky to be alive.

Misplaced Surgical Clamp Gives Man 37-Year Stomachache.
A Chinese man has finally got to the bottom of his enduring, decades-old stomachache -- a surgical clamp left inside his belly 37 years ago, Shanghai Daily reported Thursday.
Medics had failed to remove the 4-inch device after a 1974 operation to treat a stomach ulcer.
The patient, named only as Liu in local reports, had been on pain medication for nearly four decades.
But when he went back to the hospital in central China's Hubei Province on July 17 baffled doctors took an x-ray and immediately spotted the culprit.
The surgical instrument had thankfully caused very little damage and has since been successfully removed, much to Liu's relief, Shanghai Daily said.
