SOME candidates who sat for the 2012 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as well as those who sat for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations, the results of which were recently released, have expressed their displeasure with the results released by the examination bodies.
he students, who thronged the Tribune House, Imalefalafia, Ibadan, on Monday, to register their displeasure, made it known that they doubted the genuineness of the results.
One of the students, Dairo Afolabi, said: “JAMB gave out marks not on the performance of candidates.
I am sure my result should be better if the result is a true reflection of my performance.
“NECO is also another examination body which recently released results that cannot just be accepted. The government should please, save our future.”
Another candidate, Omolara Akinmoyede, said:
“JAMB and NECO are threats to the attainment of our ambitions.
It is the children of the poor that suffer from the wickedness of the examination bodies. Something needs to be done.”
Mr John Okuwobi, a teacher, was of the view that the submissions of the students were right.
