Four suspected rapists arrested in Oyo

FOUR suspected rapists, including a commercial driver, have been arrested by men of the Oyo State police command. The suspects, Titilope Abiodun, Olatunji Oyelakin, Ibrahim Akanmu and Sarafa Muraina, had at different places in the state had canal knowledge with Iyaniwura Adedokun, Hellen Chorem (7) and Oladepo Rotola. 

 he Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olabisi Okuwobi, who confirmed the incident in Ibadan, on Monday, said that one Olaifa Damilola had on March 28 reported at Ogbere Police Station that her younger sister, Oladepo Rotola, left home for work at Olunloyo area, Ibadan, on March 27. According to her, the senior sister waited endless for the sister to return but she did return until the following day.

 She said that the following day, she narrated how the driver of a commercial bus she boarded from Olorunsogo area, Ibadan, Sarafa Muraina of Gbelekale area took her to an unknown destination in a particular house and forcefully had raped her. In a related development, the police public relations officer, disclosed that another suspect, Titilope Abiodun, defiled a 13-year-old girl in Fiditi area of the state. 

 She said that on March 13, one Victor Ajibola of Modemi compound, Fiditi, had reported at the police that the suspect took her daughter, Iyanuoluwa Adedokun, of Ile-Olu area, Fiditi and had raped her and later dropped her for another man, Olatunji Oyelakin, who also raped her. According to PPRO, detectives visited the scene of the incident and the victim was taken to hospital. 

She added that medical report confirmed the act. Also, in March 19, she said that a 7-year-old girl, Hellen Ocherem, was raped by another suspect, Ibrahim Akanmu, at Monatan area of the state capital. The suspect, Okuwobi said had taken the girl to a close in their house and forcefully raped her. She said that the suspects would soon appear in court.
