Former chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum and immediate past governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday went into hiding after he was handed a judicial setback in his effort to bar the police from interrogating him on his role in "a major bank loan fraud" involving his companies.
I hear Justice Gladys Olotu of the Federal High Court in Abuja rejected Senator Saraki’s request for a restraining order against the special anti-fraud unit of the Nigeria police, which seeks to question him over his involvement in a $133.5 million loan fraud at InterContinental Bank.
“We are going to declare him a wanted man unless he comes out on his own and reports to us for questioning,” a police source was quoted. The said police source, according to an online media, said Senator Saraki went underground as soon as the judge cleared the way for his arrest and questioning.
