“The two brothers hit their father with an iron which resulted in his death during a quarrel with the man. They were arrested by the police with the help of one Fatima, one of the children of the deceased," Police prosecutor, Mr. Paul Inedu, told an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate's Court in Lagos on Thursday during the trial of two the brothers who killed their 65 years old father.
Consequently, the accused persons - Rasaq Abiona and Yusuf Abiona of ages 34 and 27 - who are standing trial on two counts of conspiracy and murder, were remanded in Ikoyi Prisons by the Magistrate, Mr. F.M. Kayode, pending advice from the state DPP.
The accused resided with their late father at 22, Taiwo Street, Ejigbo, a Lagos suburb.
According to Mr. Inedu, the offences contravened sections 22 and 231 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2011.
