Three persons were arrested last Sunday by the police in connection with the abduction of the son of the Secretary to the Delta State government, Markson Macaulay, just as Pa Samuel Uduaghan, 70-year-old cousin to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, regained his freedom.
Pa Uduaghan, who was kidnapped in his residence at Asaba last week Wednesday, regained his freedom at Agbor at the weekend, while the abductors are yet to be apprehended by security agents.
Unconfirmed report indicated that the Uduaghan family allegedly paid some amount of money to the kidnappers in order to secure the release of their father.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that Macaulay, 28, a foreign student, had travelled to his village, Owhelogbo, Isoko North Local Government Area to see his grandmother where he was kidnapped.
He was said to have been forced into a waiting car by the gunmen.
His father is said to have travelled outside the country when the incident took place.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Charles Muka, confirmed the stories but said he was not aware of payment of ransom by the Uduaghan family.
