Meanwhile, the Jama’atul Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack in Sokoto, as well as the recent one in Yobe State and the attack on the family house of the vice-president in Zaria.

Spokeman of the sect, Abul Qaqa, said it would be recalled that the sect had promised that they would launch an attack in Sokoto, as a result of arrests of their members, adding that they had fulfilled their promises. “It is for this reason that we are warning the public to resist the temptation of relating with the security operatives by giving them information about us or our activities,” he warned.
