Drama! Mu’azuSold PDP To APC, I Have Cogent Evidence - Governor Ayo Fayose

Ekiti state Governor Ayo Fayose says he has evidence to prove that the chairman of PDP, Adamu Mu’azu sold their party to the opposition, APC before the elections.

In a statement he released through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka today May 5th, Fayose said he wondered why President Jonathan will lose Bauchi state to the APC when the party chairman Adamu Muazu, FCT Mininster and the state Governor Isa Yuguda are from that state. What he said after the below...

"How do we explain the PDP losing so scandalously in Bauchi State, despite the presence of the National Chairman, Federal Capital Territory Minister and the state governor? I am even more particular about the National chairman because he sold the party to the opposition. I have cogent evidences of his unholy alliance with the opposition before the elections and if they go any further, I will expose all his underhand deals. I want to say it again that I have no apology for calling for the resignation of the NWC members, especially the National Chairman. After all, someone resigned his position as the National Chairman for Alhaji Mu’azu to assume office. Lastly, let me say it categorically that they can only attempt to destroy this party for the moment, not forever. Sooner or later, they will all fade away and PDP will rise again.” the statement read

Governor Fayose Reaction To Supreme Court Judgment Validating His Electoral Victory

Below is a press statement from Ayo Fayose regarding today's Supreme Court judgment in his favour...

I want to sincerely appreciate Ekiti people for their resilience and love for me. I am formally dedicating this victory to God and to them. Having voted for me ten months ago, and confirming the victory by the subsequent elections in the last few weeks, they have shown that they are unequivocal about their choice and their determination to protect and defend that mandate.

I cannot but appreciate the Apex Court for protecting democracy and also for living to the expectation of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Mahmud Mohammed, who had assured that under his leadership, the judiciary would not subscribe to any plot to change the outcome of elections through the instrumentality of the Court.

I think the necessary lessons must have been learnt and it is obvious that Nigeria is evolving democratically. To my opponents, I plead with you to sheath your sword and join me in the development of Ekiti State. If truly our struggle is about service to our dear State, it is time to come together and channel all our resources towards the development of the State.

I am irrevocably committed to the protection of all, including the opposition in the State. Nobody is infallible, and I am not a perfect being. The only one that is perfect is God, but He, in His infinite mercies has made me the Governor of Ekiti State today. I have a term and tenure; there will be another opportunity for Ekiti people to decide who governs them.

Rather than trouble the peace of the State, our friends in the opposition parties should accept the will of God concerning our dear State and wait till 2018. I thank all stakeholders and I am assuring them that I will leave Ekiti State better than I met it. My special appreciation also goes to the security agencies for being alive to their responsibilities.

May the Almighty God continue to bless Ekiti State.
Ayodele Fayose
Governor, Ekiti State

Governor Fayose To Know His Fate At Supreme Court Today

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, will today know his fate as the Supreme court will be delivering judgement on the petition filed by the APC challenging his victory at the June 21 2014 governorship election.

APC in its petition, had alleged that unlawful use of soldiers, intimidation of its supporters and compromised ballot papers were used to achieve his victory at last year's elections.

The APC had lost in an earlier petition at the Ekiti state Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on December 19, 2014 which upheld Governor Fayose’s victory. A dissatisfied APC approached the Supreme court for further hearing on the matter.

Meanwhile tension has reportedly gripped the state as both party supporters are awaiting the outcome of the supreme court judgement today.

Fayose Angrily Called Jonathan ‘That Stupid President’ On Tape

All is not going well for Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State at the moment. The first trouble he is dealing with is the impeachment move being put together by 19 APC lawmakers.
Secondly, the man has bite the finger that fed him. He has offended President Goodluck Jonathan greatly and the man has decided to leave him to his fate.
Sources inside the Presidency alleged that Fayose’s trouble with President Jonathan started during his re-election campaign. It was alleged that Jonathan entrusted his N21 billion campaign fund into Fayose’s hand which he allegedly mismanaged.
Why President Jonathan Turns Down Request To See Fayose On His Visit To Aso Rock
PDP sources said the President is angry with Fayose over mismanagement of campaign cash and image problem the governor caused him by his relentless attacks on the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, which soared support for the retired General while diminishing the profile of the President.
Security sources said Fayose compounded problems for himself by condemning President Jonathan for not using soldiers for the election.

“Security officers were holding a meeting with the governor and he was told to ensure adequate security to douse tension. Carelessly, the governor said he was not sure whether “that stupid President will agree like he refused to do during the presidential election”.

“Unfortunately, Fayose did not know that he was being recorded. The tape was sent to the President who after listening to it decided to leave Fayose to his fate.”

Yesterday, Governor Ayodele Fayose was said to have sensed the danger coming for being rude to his political god-father, the man who brought him back into Ekiti State House from exile..

No Going Back On Fayose's Impeachment - APC Law Makers

The 19 APC lawmakers in Ekiti State House of Assembly have said there is no going back on the impeachment plot against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The embattled Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, said the governor could not run away from the process because the impeachment notice served on Fayose was a constitutional matter and contained serious issues of the law.

He said instead of staying in hiding to evade justice, “it is better to live with the reality that the rule of law has come to stay in the country.”

He said this while reacting to media reports credited to the factional Speaker, Dele Olugbemi, and the governor’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, dismissing the impeachment notice as a joke.

Omirin in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi, said the move was to rescue democracy from the grip of executive lawlessness and impunity into which the state had been driven by the governor.

He said, “It will soon dawn on Fayose and his aides that the matter at hand goes beyond exuberant media skirmishes that are being deployed to rally support for the governor.

“Attention of the world has shifted to Ekiti State following the leaked tape detailing electoral fraud perpetrated to give Fayose victory. After that, several issues in Ekiti State are being questioned on the place of the constitution in nurturing democracy in the country, and as responsible citizens, we must act right to make democracy work.”

Omirin said all allegations raised in the impeachment notice were constitutional matters, to which the governor must be ready to produce answers instead of “belligerent attitude” in the media in addressing serious issue of constitutional significance.

Advising the governor to respond to the allegations against him, he said running away from the Government House and using his aides to cover his track would not help him in defending his assault on the nation’s constitution and other infractions against the constitution that were already established against him in courts.

“It is good that his men are talking in the media about the need to uphold the constitution in this matter even though they behave short of upholding the constitution in their conduct.

“Even though the governor trampled on the same constitution when he led thugs to attack judges in court and tore court records in the Chief Judge’s office, our duty is to follow constitutional path in this impeachment process.

“These men that are flying the governor’s banner will soon see the law in action. This impeachment process is real. We must rescue Ekiti State from lawlessness and fraud. The N1.3bn poultry project fraud case is still in court. There are still cases of unresolved murders.

“We have again seen the resumption of state-sponsored terrorism with thugs attacking and maiming Ekiti people after a break in 2006 when the governor was impeached for fraud and attacks on opponents.

“We thought his impeachment trauma in 2006 would have taught him a lesson, but the governor has proved that he cannot survive in a society where the law works. We advise him to come out of hiding and defend himself because we are prepared to give him a fair hearing. That is the reality he must face instead of downplaying serious matter of constitutional consequences,” the Speaker added.

Commenting on the impeachment notice on Sunday, Fayose in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, described his governorship as a mandate freely and wholeheartedly given by Ekiti people.

“Ekiti people who are the owners of my mandate will defend it against political usurpers, whom they had rejected twice in the last nine months,” he said.
