Another Nigerian Excretes 86 Wraps of Heroin In US

While undergoing minor questioning by federal agents at the Washington Dulles International Airport, in the United States, Michael Ayodele excreted pellets which tested positive for heroin.

On the 16th of January, 2012, Ayodele arrived at Dulles on a flight from Zurich, Switzerland. Based on suspicion he was referred to Customs and Border Protection agents for a secondary inspection. He told the agents that he was returning from Nigeria, where he had been visiting his family.

He was said to have requested for permission to use the bathroom and was allowed. But in the process, agents heard items being dropped into a toilet and learnt that Ayodele was expelling heroin pellets he had swallowed.

He has been dragged before a Federal Court in Alexandria for trafficking banned substances.

Ayodele is in custody pending further court proceedings later in the week.

US: We’re Monitoring Nigerian Situation ‘Closely’

United States has added its voice to the nationwide protests by Nigerians over the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government, saying it was monitoring the situation in Nigeria "very closely."

In the same vein, it has also condemned statements credited to the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram, which ordered Christians to leave the North and also claimed responsibility for the strings of deadly attacks on churches.

Responding to questions on the situation in Nigeria during press briefings at the State Department in Washington, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Public Affairs, Ms. Victoria Nuland, said, "Obviously, there are a lot of complicated issues that the government of Nigeria is dealing with, and some of these have become interlinked. So we’re obviously monitoring the situation very, very closely."

When asked whether US fears that the situation may worsen if oil workers join the strike on Sunday, Nuland said, "we’re not going to get into crystal balling this situation. If things remain peaceful, then you’re seeing a peaceful representation of popular opinion that the government needs to take into account. But at the same time, it’s incumbent on the government to encourage an environment that remains peaceful."

Commenting further on the protests trailing the removal of fuel subsidy, Nuland said, "In the context of the nationwide strikes on the fuel situation, our view on that is that the Nigerian people have the right to peaceful protest, we want to see them protest peacefully, and we’re also urging the Nigerian security services to respect the right of popular protest and conduct themselves professionally in dealing with the strikes."

Nuland said the view of US had neither changed in terms of the right of people to protest peacefully, nor on "the expectation that, as they protest peacefully, assuming they protest peacefully, that Nigerian security services will respect those rights and conduct themselves professionally."

Also at an earlier press briefing, the US official noted recent statements issued by the Nigerian militant Islamic sect adding that such statements by "purported" Boko Haram spokesman was "intended to inflame Muslim and Christian tensions."

She said, "From our perspective, Nigeria derives enormous strength from its ethnic and religious diversity. And this is something that the government needs to capitalize on, and clearly Boko Haram is trying to rip the country apart."

Condemning the violence credited to Boko Haram, Nuland urged Nigerian government "to hold accountable those who are responsible for these attacks, while protecting innocent civilians in the in – as they pursue their law enforcement activities."

She said, "extremist groups, like Boko Haram, were trying to play on some of the tensions inside Nigeria – some of the unsatisfied grievances in the north – and use those as excuses for this kind of violence."

Urging Nigerian government to do whatever it could to redress those grievances, she said, "but we, under no circumstances, consider that this is an excuse for violence."

On whether US considers Boko Haram and al-Qaida in the Maghreb as a threat to its interests in Africa, Nuland said, "we’ve made clear that anybody who is conducting terrorism of any kind is a threat both to the region and is a threat to our shared interest in peace and stability, of course."

The US official also noted some of the "strong statements" by President Goodluck Jonathan, adding, "He’s obviously working hard to address these issues and that needs to continue."

Responding to a question on the warning by nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, that Nigeria may be heading for a civil war, she said, "we have concerns about what Boko Haram is doing about efforts to create and exacerbate existing tensions between Christians and Muslims in the country - North/South.

"We are supporting the efforts of the Nigerian Government to try to get a handle on that. On top of that, as you’ve probably seen, we also have nationwide strikes now in Nigeria in response to lifting of fuel subsidies. So that is adding another layer to the difficulties in Nigeria."

26yr old Nigerian, Olutosin Oduwole, Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison in the US for Terrorist Threat

A 26yr old Nigerian, Olutosin Oduwole, was on Wednesday December 21, sentenced to five years in prison in Madison County, for writing what prosecutors say was a note demanding money and threatening a Virginia Tech-like killing spree.

A jury convicted the former Southern Illinois University student in October of attempting to make a terrorist threat and unauthorized possession or storage of a weapon.

The judge sided with jurors in dismissing Oduwole's claim that he was an aspiring rapper, and that the threatening words were innocent lyrical musings. He was sentenced to five years on the threat charge and a year on the weapons charge to be served concurrently.

The threat note was found in Tosin's abandoned car by cops in July 2007, just a few months after the Virginia Tech massacre. The writing demanded payment to a PayPal account, threatening "if this account doesn't reach $50,000 in the next 7 days then a murderous rampage similar to the VT shooting will occur at another highly populated university.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE! The aspiring rapper insisted in court that he "did not mean to incite fear. That was never my intention. That is not my character." But he failed to convince the court the writing was innocent lyrics and other musings. Also, unfortunately for him, when they searched his on-campus dorm when he was arrested, cops found a loaded gun.

America Legalizes S*x with Animals for Military Personnel

It was bad enough earlier this year when Obama’s liberal political machine forced the Joint Chiefs of Staff to drop ‘don’t ask don’t tell,’ allowing homos*xuals to serve openly in the armed forces.

This was followed by a military order out of the Pentagon that all military chaplains will perform same-s*x marriages and make military chapels available for such services.

Thousands of chaplains are refusing to follow those orders saying they will not perform same-s*x marriages as it goes against their religious beliefs.

Now, the US Senate has taken the moral degradation of the US military down even lower when they passed S 1867 which calls for the repeal of Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which made it illegal to engage in sodomy with humans or s*x with animals.

Shockingly, the Senate vote was 93-7 which means that the not only did the liberal Democrats vote in favor this bill but so did the vast majority of conservative Republicans.

I wonder how the constituents of these conservative Republicans would feel about their senator if they knew they voted to allow sodomy and bestiality in the military.

The measure now goes to the House where I can only hope and pray it is not just defeated, but trashed, shredded and burned.

They say that history repeats itself. Ancient Rome became morally and s*xually decadent just prior to their fall from glory.

Not only did their political and social arenas delved into debauchery, but the military also became corrupted with rampant homos*xuality. Not long after that, mighty Rome fell in power, glory and world renown..

The US is following closely in the footsteps of ancient Rome. Our nation is legalizing the same perverse and sinful lifestyles as did Rome and now it appears that our military is following the same path as Rome’s military. And if history does repeat itself as historians claim, then our total downfall from might, power and glory is just around the corner. May God have mercy on the righteous when He destroys us with His judgment..

BARRACK OBAMA'S UNCLE FACES DEPORTATION FOR ENTERING THE USA ILLEGALLY

President Obama’s uncle was back in court yesterday as his lawyer declared that he intends to challenge the legality of the traffic stop that resulted in his arrest on a drunken driving charge.

P. Scott Bratton, the lawyer representing Onyango Obama, said in an interview that he would file a motion “saying the police had no reason to stop him.’’ A hearing on the motion to suppress was scheduled for Jan. 12 in Framingham District Court.

A somber-faced Obama, a half-brother of the president’s father, sat silently during the brief hearing. Several people in the packed courtroom could be heard whispering excitedly about the presidential relative in their midst. A young man seated behind Obama, 67, quietly chanted, “Free Obama, free Obama.’’

Obama, a Framingham resident, was arrested by Framingham police Aug. 24 on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A breathalyzer test taken at the police station showed Obama’s blood-alcohol level to be 0.14 percent, according to a report filed by the Framingham Police Department.

Bratton said that if he can prove that Obama’s arrest was illegal, any evidence police gathered after he was stopped, such as the breathalyzer test or statements made by Obama, would be inadmissible in court.

The Framingham police report said Obama was stopped because he did not fully stop at a stop sign and failed to yield to traffic. Bratton declined to specify why he feels the police did not have grounds to stop him.

Bratton said that if the case goes to court he intends to challenge the breathalyzer findings. He has requested the police department’s maintenance records of the testing equipment as well as the record of Obama’s test result.

Obama, who was born in Kenya, faces other issues in immigration court. For reasons that are unclear, Obama was ordered deported in 1992 but has remained in the country. Bratton said that Obama’s immigration lawyer, also named Scott Bratton, has obtained a temporary stay of deportation and will appear before immigration officials next month to explain why Obama should be allowed to remain in the United States. Immigration officials have declined to comment on the status of his case, citing privacy laws.

Obama has been given a work permit enabling him to remain on his job as a night manager at Conti Liquors in Framingham. Obama, according to P. Scott Bratton, has worked there full time for 10 years.

Obama came to the United States in 1963 and attended private school in Cambridge while living with his older brother, the president’s father, for one year until his brother returned to Kenya.

Obama Assassination Attempt Charge

A man has been charged for attempting to assassinate US President Barack Obama last week.

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, 21, is accused of firing two shots at the White House and has been charged with attempting to kill Mr Obama or his staff.

He was arrested on Wednesday at a hotel in Pennsylvania.
He will be taken back to Washington to face the charge which carries up to life in prison.

The shots were fired at the White House while the President was away last Friday. However, it is believed that the Obama children may have been within the building.

Authorities said a man clad in black pulled his car within view of the residence and fired two bullets from an assault rifle fitted with a large scope.
They cracked the window of the first family's living quarters.

Later, US Park Police found an abandoned Honda Accord, with the rifle inside it, near a bridge leading out of Washington D.C.

Also recovered was an aluminum baseball bat, brass knuckles and a shopping receipt. Authorities have obtained surveillance footage from a Wal-Mart store.

Ortega-Hernandez has not been linked to any radical organisations but does have an arrest record in three states.

According to court filings, one of the suspect's friends said Ortega-Hernandez saw President Obama as the "devil" and was "preparing something".

First vampire bat bite death in U.S. reported

The United States has now recorded its first death from a vampire bat bite, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On July 29, 2010, a young Mexican migrant showed up to work at a Louisiana sugar cane plantation. He worked one day and then complained of fatigue, shoulder pain and numbness. By August 3 he’d been sent to a New Orleans hospital.

When he developed a fever and an elevated white blood cell count, doctors thought he might have encephalitis, or maybe meningitis. He didn’t. Doctors tested for HIV, syphilis, herpes, arboviruses, Lyme disease, autoimmune neuropathies and all came back negative.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old was deteriorating. When he had trouble breathing, doctors placed a tube down his throat to help.

Despite “True Blood’s” Louisiana setting, nobody thought of vampire bats because there are no vampire bats in the United States outside of zoos. But the young man had only just arrived in the United States. As an investigation later discovered, he had been bitten on the heel of his foot on July 15 while sleeping back home in Michoacán, a state in Mexico’s southwest.

The bat had transmitted rabies, a common complication from vampire bat bites in central and South America. Doctors did begin to suspect rabies — and the state’s public health office was duly notified, but it wasn’t until August 20 that rabies tests came back positive. He died on August 21.
Every person who had been in contact with him had to be found and notified. Some who had shared drinking vessels with him, for example, could have caught the disease. But according to CDC, so far there is no evidence anybody did.

SEAL Team 6 members among 38 killed in Afghanistan

A helicopter similar to this one pictured herewas shot down Saturday
morning, killing 30 Americans, including 22 Navy SEALs,

along with seven Afghansoldiers and an interpreter
The Navy SEALs were among 30 Americans, seven Afghans and an interpreter killed in the deadliest incident for U.S. forces in the Afghanistan war when their helicopter is shot down.
Their name conjures up the most celebrated moment of America's post-September 11 military campaigns. Now the Navy SEALs belong to a grimmer chapter in history: the most deadly incident for U.S. forces in the 10-year Afghanistan war.

Three months after they killed Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in neighboring Pakistan and cemented their place in military legend, the SEALs suffered a devastating loss when nearly two dozen of the elite troops were among 30 Americans who died when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan early Saturday.

It was the largest number of American troops killed in a single day in the war. U.S. officials said the helicopter appeared to have been felled by enemy fire, and the Taliban quickly claimed responsibility. Seven Afghan commandos and a civilian interpreter also were killed, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said.

No member of the Bin Laden raid team was among the dead, said a Pentagon official briefed on the casualties who was not authorized to speak publicly while families still were being notified. But he said 22 of the 30 were Navy SEALs, and a significant number were members of SEAL Team 6, the unit that conducted the Bin Laden raid and is made up of just a few hundred of some of the best-trained fighters in the U.S. military.

The loss of so many represents a significant blow to a tightknit group that is involved in some of the most sensitive U.S. counter-terrorism operations around the world.

There was no indication that insurgents knew that many aboard the doomed Chinook were Team 6 members. But the Taliban and its allies are likely to reap an enormous propaganda boost from the deaths. The Taliban often seeks to appeal to the country's folkloric sensibilities by depicting battlefield exploits in florid fashion; videos and songs trumpet various successes against foreign "invaders," and any victory against NATO forces is held up as proof of divine inspiration and guidance.

The downing of the U.S. helicopter in mountainous Wardak province comes at a crucial juncture of the war, as the U.S. begins a drawdown in troops in a prelude to a full-fledged withdrawal.

The episode could embolden the insurgency at a time when Western and Afghan officials have been hoping a weakened Taliban movement can be lured to the bargaining table. Like the assassination last month of Karzai's powerful half brother, it will be viewed by many as a sign of the insurgents' reach and power.

A statement from Karzai's office offered condolences to President Obama and the families of the Afghan troops who died.

In the early hours Saturday, the SEALs joined other U.S. Special Operations forces on a raid in Wardak province, west of Kabul, the capital. Such is the clockwork regularity of these nighttime raids that they have become almost routine.

But this one went horribly awry.

A Western military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the twin-rotor CH-47 helicopter had apparently been brought down by a rocket-propelled grenade moments after takeoff from the raid, when it was most vulnerable to attack.

Apple holding more cash than USA

US President Barack Obama is known to be
an iPad owner, along with 28 million other people
Apple now has more cash to spend than the United States government.

Latest figures from the US Treasury Department show that the country has an operating cash balance of $73.7bn (£45.3bn).

Apple's most recent financial results put its reserves at $76.4bn (£46.9bn).

The US House of Representatives is due to vote on a bill to raise the country's debt ceiling, allowing it to borrow more money to cover spending commitments.

If it fails to extend the current limit of $14.3 trillion (£8.7tn) dollars, the federal government could find itself struggling to make payments, and risks the loss of its AAA credit rating.

The United States is currently spending around $200bn (£122bn) more than it collects in revenue every month.

Apple, on the other hand, is making money hand over fist, according to its financial results.

In the three months ending 25 June, net income was 125% higher than a year earlier at $7.31bn (£4.6bn).

Spending spree
With more than $75bn (£35.8bn) either sitting in the bank or in easily accessible assets, there has been enormous speculation about what the company will do with the money.

"Apple keeps its cards close to its chest," said Daniel Ashdown, an analyst at Juniper Research.

Industry watchers believe that it is building up a war chest to be used for strategic acquisitions of other businesses, and to secure technology patents.

Bookstore Barnes and Noble and the online movie site Netflix have both been tipped as possible targets, said Mr Ashdown.

The company may also have its eye on smaller firms that develop systems Apple might want to add to its devices, such as voice recognition.

Apple dipped into some of its reserves recently when it teamed-up with Microsoft to buy a batch of patents from defunct Canadian firm Nortel.

The bidding consortium shelled out $4.5bn (£2.8bn) for more than 6,000 patents.
