New York mother kills 'demon' child

Detectives and other officials were investigating a girl’s death
 at her building on Friday morning.

A BROOKLYN mother horrifically stabbed, beat and killed her three year old because she was convinced the little girl was possessed by demons, police sources said.

"The monsters are coming from my baby. God wasn't there for her, so I had to save her," 29-year-old Brandis Nwegbo allegedly told cops.

Her child, Cathryn Nwegbo, was declared dead on arrival at Woodhull Hospital on Friday despite rescuers' attempts to save her.

After her arrest, Nwegbo was sent to Woodhull's psychiatric unit, police sources said. She has not yet been charged.

When officers arrived at Nwegbo's apartment, Cathryn was cradled in her mother's arms.

"Blood was everywhere," a law enforcement source said.

Police find woman's body in freezer

In VIENNA, Austria  — Police have found the body of an 89-year old woman stuffed in her freezer and say her nephew has admitted placing her there.

Police spokesman Markus Haindl said Tuesday the unidentified suspect claims that his aunt died a natural death. He cites the nephew as saying he put her in the freezer instead of reporting her death to be able to collect her monthly care allowance check.

Police are waiting for autopsy results to see if there was foul play involved in the death, in Neuhofen/Ybbs, a town about 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of Vienna.

Pastor pours son acid over alleged s*xual escapade with his wife

Pastor of a Pentecostal church in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, last weekend, assaulted his son with raw acid for allegedly sleeping with his wife and sipping from his bottle of wine.

The pastor (name witheld), could not control his temper when he was told that the son drank from his bottle of wine, while grappling with the son’s alleged s*xual escapade with his wife.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, the son (name withheld) said his father got very mad with him on hearing he took a sip from his bottle of wine. “He was not around when I took a glass shot from his bottle of wine; this is what I got for reporting myself,” he lamented.

He said: “On that fateful day, I went into my father’s room and took a bottle of wine to keep my body and soul together. As I was sipping from the glass of wine, my father who was away returned and I told him about the wine in my hand but he became very angry and started insulting and calling me names.

“Suddenly, he appeared with a cup and poured something on my body. First, I thought it was water but shortly after my skin started peeling off. I wondered why my father could do this to me. Well, I thank God I’m still alive.”

When contacted the Pastor said he acted in self defense. He however added; “I didn’t know the container’s content was acid.

“I did not only do it for self defense but also for the family benefit. My Bible told me ‘suffer not the witch to live’. The boy deserved what he got.

“The boy is a bone on my neck and a major threat to the entire family. He has committed a lot of atrocities against the family. You will not believe me that my son is having s*x with my wife (his mother), this is a result of his devilish and demonic act where he did juju that can enable him to enter any locked house without keys.”

As at the time of filing this report, the victim was still receiving treatment in a private hospital (namewitheld) in the area.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer in Oleh, Mr Chris Sorgbara said he was not aware of the incident, adding that the matter has not been reported to the police.
