It was a harvest of hoodlums in Benin City as the Edo State Police command yesterday paraded two suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of popular Benin musician, Bayo Ade.

The two suspects, Chinedu Ihieme (24) and Dickson Iyamu Edamwen alias Don Wany were among the eight kidnappers and 11 armed robbers arrested at different locations in the state during the week. They were believed to be behind the surge in kidnapping and robbery incidents in the State.

It would be recalled that Bayo Ade was kidnapped in September, 2011 on his way to perform at a birthday ceremony and was later found dead 24 hours later after his abductors received the ransom they asked for.

Briefing newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, David Omojola, thanked members of the pubic for their useful information that helped the Police in their investigation and eventual arrest of the criminals.

Also paraded was a 68 year old man, John Ogboroju, a retired soldier who was alleged to be the keeper of arms and ammunition for the kidnappers and also the father of three of the fleeing suspects whose names were given as Jeremiah, Toju and Utieyin.
