35yr old woman arraigned for burglary

A 35-year-old-woman, Afusat Adegbite, was arraigned on Monday before an Osogbo Senior Magistrates’ Court for alleged burglary and theft.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Joshua Oladoye, said the accused on Nov. 20, 2011 broke into an apartment at Wuraola Street, Woleola Estate, Osogbo.

Oladoye told the court the accused carted away a unit of 200 wax of stabiliser and two rolls of new and used electrical cables belonging to one Jimoh Oduola

He said the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 413 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.

When the charge sheet was read out, the accused pleaded not guilty.

The counsel to the accused, Mr Sunday Atofarati, applied for bail for his client, pledging that she would not jump bail.

Senior Magistrate Olusola Aluko granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Aluko ordered that the surety should provide two recent passport photographs, swear to an affidavit of means while the address should be verified by the bailiff.

He adjourned the case to April 18 for further hearing.
