A healing crusade of Christ Embassy Church headed by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, took a tragic turn recently when one man reportedly died and 16 others sustained various degree of injuries.

The Higher Life Conference, an annual event of the Church, was hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, with about 150,000 people in attendance, including children and the terminally ill.

Sadly, some of the terminally ill who were taken to the three-day crusade by relatives could not withstand the "difficulties" at the venue. One of them, 56-year-old Simon Williams, a Pastor from Paarl in South Africa, was moved from the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital by his family to attend the Christ Embassy crusade for "miracle".

While the trip to the venue proved deadly for the Pastor, it also proved injurious for 16 others. Unfortunately, Pastor Simon could not get the desired healing as he collapsed and died of renal failure inside the stadium.

“Some of them had travelled long distances to get there, they had ongoing medical issues and were in a lot of pain,” Dr. Wayne Smith, head of disaster medicine in Cape Town, told the Telegraph.

May the soul of Pastor Simon rest in peace.
