THE long arm of the law recently caught up with two Sango priests in Oyo town, Oyo State as they were arrested by the police in connection with the death of one Sesan (surname unknown) whom they allegedly killed in order to take possession of his Kia Picanto car.
Sunday Tribune gathered that the two men, Jelili Amusa (35) and Saheed Rasaki (28) in company of another priest, Kazeem a.k.a. Egun, who is currently at large, allegedly committed the act at about 9p.m. on March 4 at Awon river in the outskirts of Oyo where Amusa took the deceased on the pretence that he wanted him to offer a sacrifice.
Amusa and Sesan had approached the spot where the latter was supposed to offer the sacrifice in his car, while Rasaki and Kazeem were said to have mounted a motorcycle, following them at a distance, a plan said to have been hatched by the three priests.
As the deceased got to the spot, undressed and was chanting incantations, Kazeem had reportedly emerged from where he was hiding and shot him with a dane gun he held.
The deceased was said to have shouted and run a short distance before he slumped, asking Amusa to have mercy on him when he noticed that he just stood by without coming to his rescue.
When the priests saw that he was not dead, Rasaki also allegedly aimed his own dane gun at him and shot him again.
