500 ACN members defect to PDP in Osun

OVER 100 members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) on Thursday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), just as they promised absolute loyalty and commitment to the cause of the PDP so that it can win the state back from the ACN in the next general elections.

Among the decampees were chairman of the ACN in Olaoluwa Local Government, Alhaji Kelani Adeleke, who accused the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, of hijacking the party and that the party was insensitive to the plight of the members.

Receiving the defectors in Bode-Osi, headquarters of the Local Government, was the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade. The former SSG said the defection to the PDP marked the death of the ACN in the state.

He asserted that the people of the state were tired of the policy of the ACN administration in the state and that many other members of the ACN were on their way to declare for PDP, as they have approached the PDP and have been assured of their acceptance into the progressive fold.
