Another World record is set! Single Mother inserts drugs of 1kg into her Channel O

Law enforcement agents and travellers were last week astonished when 66 wraps of narcotics, which tested positive to methamphetamine, were discovered in the private part of Mande Bala, 48, at the screening section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on June 15, 2012.

The lady was promptly arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency shortly before she was due to board a Kenyan Airways flight to Nairobi. The NDLEA Commander at the airport, Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest. He said, “The quantity of drugs that Bala had inserted in her private part was so much that it affected her gait, drawing the attention of the NDLEA officials.

No suspect has ever inserted such a large quantity of drugs in the country. Usually, cases of insertion are not more than 300g. The discovery was shocking.” CRIME DIGEST gathered that in all, the 66 wraps of methamphetamine expelled from Bala’s private part weighed 1kg. Bala, who claimed to be a widow and mother of three, told CRIME DIGEST that she was pushed to trafficking in drugs in order to raise school fees for her children.

She said, “I am a widow; my husband died in 2007. I have got three children to take care of. I need N45,000 to pay some fees for my child and I also had to take care of my rent because I have a quit notice to leave my house in July. I was actually supposed to swallow the drugs but I was too scared to do so. “I then decided on my own to hide them instead in my private parts because I was scared I would die if I ingested the drugs.

I have heard such things happen. Although it was difficult for me to walk, I had to do my best because there is no one else to take care of my children.” In his reaction, the chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, described the incident as disturbing. “Apart from the quantity of drugs caught with her, her route is a new development in drug trafficking.

Drug barons now adopt a relay approach to drug trafficking. They wanted to use her to take the drug to another African country before using an indigene of that country to take the drug to other continents, where the profit is higher. We are not oblivious of their moves and we are prepared to nip them in the bud,” he said.

According to the agency, no suspect has ever inserted such a large quantity of drugs in her private part since the establishment of the NDLEA in 1989. The suspect, who is a graduate of accounting from a South-West university, lives at Ijoko in Ogun State and is a native of Lagos Island in Lagos State. She will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.

Nigeria: Illicit Drugs Factory in Lagos

Any illusion over the involvement of Nigerian nationals in the dangerous but lucrative traffic in hard drugs may have disappeared with the discovery of an illegal factory in Lagos devoted to the manufacture of the illicit merchandise, including methamphetamine, a powerful addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system, according to experts. Preliminary investigations revealed that the factory was being run by some Bolivians and their Nigerian counterparts.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) who made the discovery have said that the existence of such illegal drug firms in Lagos and other parts of the South Eastern states of the country are becoming rampant.

This disclosure is disturbing, because it brings home the reality that if care is not taken, Nigeria will sooner or later confirm its status as a major player in the illicit drugs trade. Drug law enforcement officials believe drugs manufactured in the Lagos plant were destined for export.

The involvement of Bolivian nationals, notorious worldwide in the hard drugs trade, would seem to suggest that they may be looking for alternative havens as the war on drugs in most South American countries gain momentum.

Some of their nationals could be shifting base to territories less identified with the trade, like Nigeria, in order to avoid detection by law enforcement agents.

Because of lax policing and sluggish enforcement of regulations, Nigeria may provide a perfect breeding ground for their extremely lucrative but equally extremely deadly products. They should not be allowed to take root,

NDLEA arrests man with drugs stuffed inside tin tomato

A 26-year-old man has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for alleged drug trafficking. The suspect, identified as Nzeka Chika, who was heading to Malaysia, was caught with over 1.800kg of methamphetamine worth over N5 million, stuffed into tin tomatoes at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The suspect who claimed to be ignorant of death sentence for drug offenders in Malaysia is being interrogated by anti-narcotic agents over unlawful exportation of the drugs. Officers of the agency who made the arrest at the weekend following the discovery of drugs inside tomato paste at Lagos, Nigeria, said the suspect is cooperating with investigators.

According to a source, the drug which was industrially packaged in two big tin tomato containers, clothes and foodstuff was detected during the outward screening of an Egypt Air flight to Malaysia at the Lagos airport . NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar who gave the name of the suspect, as Nzeka Chika, a commercial motorcycle rider in Okigwe, Imo State said he was still under interrogation.

“The two big tin tomato pastes with 1.8kg of methamphetamine were in Nzeka’s bag containing clothes and foodstuff like yams, rice, beans, garri and spaghetti. The food items were meant to distract officers from the tomato pastes” Hamza stated.

Similarly, NDLEA operatives at the Lagos State Command arrested a drug peddler, identified as Yomi Kito. Sources said the arrest was affected after a raid at the notorious drug enclave of Akala Mushin, Lagos last Saturday.

Residents of the area who applauded the agency after the arrest urged them to carry out more of such raids. A resident, who craved for anonymity over fear of reprisal told Crime Alert, “We have suffered a lot of insecurity from the presence of these hoodlums smoking Indian hemp around this area for a long time and security agents have been insensitive to their presence. We want them to do this often so that they can make this area unattractive for drug users.”

19yr old woman lured a 16yr old girl, drug her and gang-rape her at knifepoint

A teenage girl was today jailed for luring a 16-year-old to a house party where she was plied with drink and drugs before being gang-raped at knifepoint.

Amber Roderick, 19, smothered herself in dog shampoo and joined in with the horrific attack which left the vulnerable victim traumatised.

Today it emerged that she had only just been released from jail after forcing two boys, aged nine and ten, to perform s*x acts on each other in a park.

Jailing her indefinitely for at least four years, Judge Bruce McIntyre said she posed a significant risk of harm to the public, including young people and children.

Roderick had met the 16-year-old in the street and later persuaded her to join a party which was being thrown by her friends.

She was given cannabis as well as vodka and coke drinks so strong she had to ask for them to be watered down, Reading Crown Court heard.

The initial assault took place on the top floor of the house, in Reading, where Joseph Lawrence, 29, threatened the girl with a knife before forcing himself on her. Roderick also took part in the attack.

After the pair had finished, Lawrence told his young victim that he would stab her in the face if she ever told anyone.

But her horrific ordeal was not over. She managed to free herself and tried to flee to the bathroom. But she was caught by 26-year-old Patrick Maughan, another party-goer, and Roderick, who subjected her to another assault.

It was at this point that Roderick rubbed dog shampoo over her own body as she carried out the attack.

The horrifying act lasted less than 10 seconds but the victim told Reading Crown Court it left her feeling physically sick and shattered.

She eventually managed to escape from the house and informed police.
Her attackers were arrested while they were still drunk at the party, which was held at Lawrence's mother's house on April 3 last year.

The court heard how even in police cells Roderick was heard threatening to kill her victim.
Roderick refused to appear before Judge McIntyre to be sentenced today and stayed in the cells beneath the court room.

In her absence, she was jailed indefinitely with a minimum term of four years.
Judge McIntyre said that Roderick posed a 'significant risk of serious harm to the public, including children and young persons and that is likely to remain the position until she addresses her offending behaviour.'

And he revealed that she had been found guilty of 'similar bullying s*xual abuse before'.
'Ms Roderick has chosen not to tell anybody who might have told me what has happened in her short life to make her the way she is,' he said.

'However, in Ms Roderick’s case I am quite satisfied that as a result of these offences and her previous convictions for s*xual abuse of young boys, taken together with her attitude to anybody who challenges her about this offending behaviour, that she is dangerous.

Addressing Lawrence, he said: 'It was a prolonged period of time during which she was kept in that house.

'You did not use a condom. You threatened her afterwards using words to the effect that she might get stabbed in the face if she told anybody what had happened. You showed no remorse.'
Maughan was jailed for six years while Lawrence, from Reading, was given seven years.

The pair smiled and waved at weeping family members as they were led down to the cells.
Maughan kissed his partner through the glass around the dock as she wailed 'Patrick' before he was taken down.

All three had been found guilty after a trial in December. The verdicts sparked violent scenes in court in which Roderick attacked security guards.

South African lady excretes 55 wraps of hard drug in Lagos

A South African lady, who ingested hard drugs for onward ‘export” to Malaysia, has been apprehended by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The suspect, 38-year-old Nene Fikile Happy-Girl, was going through screening at the departure hall when she suddenly held her tummy and screamed to see a doctor immediately. Rather than take her to the doctor immediately, the anti-narcotic officials rushed her first to the dreaded 3-D scanner before granting her request.

The scanner revealed that she ingested some drugs later discovered to be methamphetamine. She could no longer board the Emirates flight to Malaysia and under observation she excreted 55 wraps of methamphetamine that weighed 700 grams. According to the Airport Commander, Hamza Umar, the suspect, unlike others, gave up herself when she could no longer bear the pain.

Preliminary investigation, Hamzar said, revealed that she travelled to Malaysia from South Africa. It was in Malaysia that she was recruited to smuggle drugs from Cotonou in neighbouring Benin Republic where she ingested the substance.

In her confessional statement, the single mother said that she wanted to make life better for her 19-year-old daughter. “I am a single mother and I trade to take care of myself and daughter. I visited my friend in Malaysia and it was there I was convinced into coming to Cotonou to collect the drugs. They gave me the drugs in my hotel room and I forced myself to ingest the wraps,” she said.

It was gathered that the original plan was for the suspect to use the airport at Benin Republic but she was diverted to Lagos. “I was asked to go through Lagos. My desire to give my only child the best education made me to engage in drug trafficking. This is my first time and I was scared of death. I reported myself when I was feeling acute pain in my stomach,” Nene stated. The South African embassy, Hamzar noted, has been contacted and that some officials had visited her.

The anti-drug agency hinted that she will soon be charged to court in Nigeria. The NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Ahmadu Giade, has ordered investigation into the case. Since she was given the drug in Cotonou, the investigation may be carried out under the West Africa Joint Operations (WAJO), which is an umbrella body of anti-drug operatives in the sub-region.

According to Giade, “we hope to dismantle the drug cell that sponsored the suspect. I cannot rule out the possibility of a joint operation since two countries are involved. Certainly no stone shall be left unturned in this case,” he added. The NDLEA boss also expressed concern over the rate at which drug traffickers smuggle drugs into Malaysia in spite of the death penalty for drug offences in that country.

Model Smuggling Cocaine Inside Fake Br*ast and Buttock Implants, Arrested

Rome, Dec 22: Italian police have arrested a beautiful model trying to smuggle more than £250,000 of cocaine into the country inside br*ast and buttock implants, Daily Mail reported.

The 33-year-old woman, identified only by the initials MFM, was held by officers as she tried to distract them with her plunging neckline and tight-fitting outfit at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.

But her plan backfired as they were so captivated by her looks they pulled her over for questioning and discovered the drugs when she failed to explain why she had been to South America. The woman had flown to Rome from Sao Paolo in Brazil and a search by female officers revealed the fake br*ast and buttock implants she was wearing had also been used to hide 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg) of cocaine.

Police said the class A drug was destined for the Italian market around Rome and the seizure came just days after £1million of cocaine was found hidden in the wheel arches of a truck that had arrived on a ferry from Spain.

Antonio Di Greco, police chief at Fiumicino airport, said: ‘The route she arrived on is very well used by drugs traffickers and her looks immediately caught the attention of the officers on duty.

“She had tried to distract them with a plunging neckline and tight outfit but they stopped her for questioning because she was so alluring and her story about why she was in South America just fell apart.

‘She actually became quite aggressive and was taken away for more detailed questioning by two female officers and that’s when the drugs were found hidden in the plastic br*ast and buttock implants. ‘The extremely pure cocaine crystals were found moulded into the implants that she was wearing.’ He added that last week 130lbs (59 kg) of cocaine had been seized at Fiumicino and ten people arrested as they tried to smuggle the drugs in hidden in various objects - including toilet rolls - or by swallowing packets.

Five years ago in a similar bust a 24-year-old model was arrested at Catania airport on the island of Sicily after it emerged she had swallowed 98 bags containing around 2lbs of cocaine. The model held at Rome airport is now in custody accused of international drug trafficking.
