Fulani Herdsmen Rape Woman To Death In Edo

The rate at which Fulani herdsmen are causing havoc in the country is becoming alarming. A middle-aged woman was raped and subsequently killed by three Fulani herdsmen in Edo state.The Nation reports that the woman was accosted by the suspects while returning from farm at Odighi village in Ovia North East Local Government alongside her 18-year-old son.

The son was said to have escaped while she was caught and raped to death.

The body of the victim whose identity is yet to be ascertained was recovered by policemen attached to Ekiadolor Divisional police headquarters after complaints were lodged by the villagers.

However, three herdsmen have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command in connection to the crime.Public Relations officer (PPRO), Edo state police command, DSP, Noble Uwoh who confirmed the incident gave the names of the the three suspects as Mohammed, Isah and Yusuf.

Over the past months, there's been reports of Fulani Herdsmen causing havoc in different parts of the country. In April, the Fulani herdsmen reportedly dressed in Army Uniform killed 77 people and injured several others in an attack in Taraba state.

In May, Fulani herdsmen raped a 15-year-old girl and two housewives in Benue state.

Just last week, precisely Thursday June 5, four persons were killed and 19 others injured during a clash between Gwari farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Paiko, near Gwagwalada in Abuja.

SAD:70-yr-old HIV patient rapes girl, 13

People think until you physically use a gun or a weapon to kill someone, that's when you commit murder but i think a 70 year old HIV man who deliberately rapes a 13 year has just committed murder because condemning a young girl to the scourges and pain of an HIV infected life gotten through a rape is both wicked and gruesome. 

A 70-year-old man has been arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl in Barkin Ladi Local Government of Plateau State. The man whose name has been withheld was said to have raped the girl last Thursday.

The suspect said to be  in police net is infected with HIV and is on anti-retroviral drugs.

The old man was said to have been caught in the act by the son of the landlord, who immediately reported the matter to the police.It was also gathered that the old man had confessed committing  the crime, but later denied after some of his kinsmen told him to deny raping the minor. 

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe confirmed that the 70-year-old man is in police custody in Barkin Ladi, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl but said he would be transferred to the headquarters in Jos.
