A middle aged-woman identified as Biodun Bamgbose, was yesterday paraded alongside ten other robbery suspects by the Ogun State Police Command for alleged armed robbery and cars snatching, among other crimes.
Briefing newsmen at the Command’s Headquarters, in Abeokuta, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the woman was a member of a six-man syndicate that specialised in car snatching in the state.
According to Adejobi, before Bamgbose met her waterloo, “the lady, Biodun Bamgboye, will first make friend with a man who rides big cars. So, one day when she goes out with him, she will call her accomplice to come and snatch the car. The gang has been doing this for a while now, terrorizing innocent citizens and dispossessing them of their belongings, we fought tooth and nail before these criminals were eventually arrested.”
He said that all the suspects were arrested for robbery and cars snatching among other crimes in the state.
He attributed the arrest of the suspects to combined efforts of the Police and various communities.
While assuring Ogun citizens of their safety, the PPRO said: “We look forward to more smooth relationships with members of the public.”
He however said that five other suspects arrested for robbing in different parts of the state would soon be charged to court alongside other suspects.
