"Among those sacked were 76 Masters degree holders, three PHD holders out of four in the institution,16 Heads of Departments out of 28, four deans out of six and 27 senior lecturers out of the 40 in the college", he said.
In an interview, Provost of the college, Dr Garba Ibrahim, said the teachers appointments were terminated because of new arrangements and changes by the Governing Council.
Dr Ibrahim said the college will make alternative arrangements before students of the college resume.
The staff union embarked on an indefinite strike over the re-appointment of the registrar of the college, Aliyu B Shehu, for another five years, accusing of him of bad administration and misappropriation of public funds. It was gathered that the state government directed them to suspend their strike action, and when that did not work, it asked members of the union who are willing to work to indicate their interest in writing.
