Woman Files For Divorce, Says My Husband Is Denying Me S*x
A 40-year-old woman, Mrs Adeolu Adelani, has pleaded with an Igando Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve her 14-year-old marriage on the ground that her husband was denying her s*x.
The troubled wife cried out: ”For eight years now, my husband, Jide, has refused to make love to me. My husband has been denying me s*x since eight years now, I am neither a stone nor a stick.”
The petitioner also accused her husband of abandonment, saying that he deserted her and her 12-year-old child to an unknown destination since 2013.
“Jide parked out of the house without telling me, he refused to tell me where he lives and where he works. He only sends his son’s school fees and house rent through my bank account,” she said.
Adeolu said that her husband told her to stop calling him as he had married another woman. She said that her husband told her to find another husband.
“My husband told me that he is married to another woman, when I called him to know why he abandoned us without any prior notice or reason.” Adeolu, a mother of one, said that she was always sad anytime her neighbours made jest of her, by calling her rejected and abandoned property.
She begged the court to dissolve the marriage as she was no longer interested in her husband.
However, Mr Jide Adelani, 45, a businessman, accepted the allegation of starving his wife of s*x. He said that he refused to make love to her because he did not want her to have another child as their last child almost took her life.
“She gave birth to our son through cesarean; I don’t want to risk her life, that was why I distanced myself from her so that she should be taking care of the child,” he said.
The respondent said that he did not abandon his wife, but decided to move closer to his working place due to distance. I did not abandon her, I always squat with my friends and I come home once in a while.”
He said that he processed documents to travel abroad and he was duped. Jide claimed his wife was happy that the journey was not successful.
The husband conceded to the dissolution of the marriage, saying he was also fed up with the union.
After listening to the troubled couple, the president of the court, Mr Hakeen Oyekan, adjourned the case till Aug. 12 for judgment.

''My Husband Made Love To Me Today, He Can't Divorce Me'' - Woman Tells Court
There was a mild drama at Ejigbo Customary Court in Lagos State on Monday July 21st, when a housewife, Mariam Jimoh rejected the divorce suit instituted against her by her husband, Sunday, insisting that they must continue with their 10-year old marriage.
Mariam was dragged to court by her husband, an indigene of Oyo State, seeking for the dissolution of their 10 years old marriage because, according to him, he no longer loved her.
But to the surprise of everyone present in the court room, the mother of two insisted that her husband still loves her as they are still living together in the same apartment, sleeping together in the same bed and even making love on a regular basis as husband and wife.
The woman also revealed in the court that her husband, Mr Sunday, made love to her that early morning before they came to court for their divorce case.
She wondered why Mr. Sunday would claim he was no more in love with her whereas they are planning to have another baby.
She asked: “where does he want me to go after two kids and the sacrifices I have made for 10 years to keep the relationship?”
Ogun State-born Mariam said that they are living peacefully because he provides for them and she was still by all means playing her role as his wife by taking care of him and their children.
She said she was still surprised that her husband brought her to the court seeking for divorce even when she showers him with love. She narrated that they started the relationship when she was in secondary school and they later got married without the consent of her parents.
She said the relationship produced two children, David, 6, and Simon, 4, despite the fact that she did not pay her bride price.
Although Mr Sunday confirmed that they are still living together, but he said it's because of the children and said he was tired of the marriage because her parents did not support it in the first place.
As the matter was going on in court, the parents of the couple who had not met each other since the marriage started 10 years ago appeared in court. They pleaded with the court to allow them step into the matter to resolve it out of court because of the children.
Consequently, the court adjourned till 30 July, 2014 for report of settlement. Source

''How Wife Almost Killed Cheating Husband''
Marriage is an institution that men and women should look forward to but when a woman chases her husband with a dagger and another woman decides to have extra marital affairs, then there are questions that should be answered.
This was the case in the family of Mr and Mrs Ogodi of Ado town in the Karu area of Nasarawa State.
The couple had been having some rough patches in recent times just as most families are prone to but the wife, Chidinma, probably never thought that the argument [over infidelity] would end up with her spending several night in police custody.
The case of the commissioner of Police versus Mrs Chidinma Ogodi was mentioned at the Upper Area court Maraba Gurku, Nasarawa State, and according to the First Information Report (FIR) from the police, on September 5, 2013, Chidinma had a misunderstanding with her husband at their home and during the war of words that ensued she ran after him with a digger with intention to kill him.
She picked up a dagger which happened to be lying close by at that moment and went after her husband with intent to actualize her threat.
He managed to escape but she decided to take out her annoyance on his car and she smashed his windscreen, refusing to stop until the whole windscreen was destroyed.
However, the sister to Mrs Chidinma told a story quite different from what was in the report.
Mrs Daberechi Onyereri, who came to court to apply for bail for Chidinma, stated in her report that it was Mr Ogodi that attacked his wife because they had a "small" misunderstanding and it was in the course of this that the windscreen got smashed. She however could not state which of the parties smashed it or if her sister Chidinma had chased her husband with a digger.
The court didn't buy the sister's story.
Chidinma was arraigned on September 9, 2013, and charged with criminal intimidation, mischief and attempt to commit homicide contrary to sections 397, 327 and 95 of the Penal Code Law of Nigeria.
