Kuwaiti Prince, Abdullah Al-Sabah Converts Into Christianity

According to reports, a Kuwaiti royal prince has become a follower of Jesus Christ. In an audio file posted with his name, he affirms that if he is killed because of a recording he made where he talks about his conversion, he firmly believes that he will meet Jesus Christ face-to-face.

The news comes from Middle Eastern sources which state that al-Haqiqa – a Christian satellite TV channel in Arabic that transmits Christian religious programmes – broadcast an audio file attributed to the Kuwaiti prince, identified as Abdullah al-Sabah. The al-Sabahs are the royal family of Kuwait, a country rich in oil. The name Abdullah (servant of God) frequently appears in the Emir’s family tree.

In his audio file, Abdullah declared: “First of all, I fully agree with the distribution of this audio file and I now declare that if they kill me because of it, then I will appear before Jesus Christ and be with him for all eternity.” In this statement, the prince demonstrates his awareness of the fate in store for a martyr of the faith, according to Christian doctrine.

The television channel stated that Abdullah is a member of the royal family, and that he recently renounced his faith in Islam and became a Christian, without specifying which particular branch of Christianity he had chosen. After stating his full name, the prince declared: “I will accept whatever they do to me, because the truth in the Bible has guided me towards the right path.”

In the audio file, Abdullah talks about the Islamic groups that are winning the elections in Egypt and declares: “Islamic communities have always wanted to attack in different parts of the world but God has preserved the world and still protects it. This is why we have recently seen disagreements appearing among Islamic groups who are now fighting with each other. They are about to divide further into different groups.”

Mohabat News, a Christian Iranian website which has been following the fate of Christian minorities in the Middle East closely and which has monitored Abdullah’s statement, confirms that this news was published briefly by Arabic news agencies and also by the Iranian state news agency.

Some independent websites with Shiite leanings denied the reports and quoted another Kuwaiti prince, Azbi al-Sabah, who said: “There’s no one by that name in the Kuwaiti royal family.”

In actual fact, the name Abdullah does not appear on the list of the 15 members of the royal family who rule this small, extremely wealthy country in different capacities: from the Sheikh down to Princess Nijirah al-Sabah, who testified in the US Congress under the assumed name of "Nurse Nayirah" on the humanitarian situation in the country after the invasion by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and just before the Gulf War. That isn’t to say that this high-profile convert is not hidden somewhere within the extended family, under a different name.

In Kuwait the overwhelming majority of the population is Muslim (only 4% is Christian) and the country’s Constitution states: “Islam is the official religion of the country and Sharia is the main source for legislation.”,

We need a revolution

Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has warned that Nigeria was drifting dangerously, asking that urgent steps be taken by the Federal Government to address the current insecurity in the country. He called for what he described as the ‘’revolution of the mind and spirit.”

Okogie lamented that the government has failed to protect Nigerians in the face of incessant bombings by Boko Haram Islamic sect.

In his New Year message to the nation, Okogie said only the collective will of the citizens, government and God can change the dark cloud hanging over Nigeria.

The cleric said: “To get back on track and salvage our beloved country from its present woes, there is need for change. There is an urgent need for a revolution. In line with the three dimensions of man, revolution is possible at the physical level, at the level of the mind and at the level of the spiritual.

“However, for us Christians, violent revolution at the physical level is excluded. When we speak about revolution we do not mean a bloody revolution but a revolution of the mind and spirit

“That we are born to be great is clear to all. But unfortunately, we are not great. Instead, we are a nation in distress, a nation on the verge of falling, a nation that is gradually drifting.

“Our woes as a country are visible in every thing: epileptic power supply, the death traps we call roads, insecurity of life and property, irrational and unjustifiable ethnic and religious riots, unrestrained corruption in the corridors of power and beyond, high rate of unemployment and abject poverty.”

He expressed confidence that Nigerians could come out of the challenges posed by current insecu-rity, but stressed that this could only happen when leaders decide to be true shepherds and not wolves.

Okogie said: “In spite of all the evils that besiege us as a nation, Nigeria is redeemable. A new national order where all can flourish irrespective of tribe or social class; a new society characterised by justice, peace, love, and true reign of brotherhood is still possible in our country.

“But we must first get it right and this can only happen when our leaders decide to be true shepherds. There is anger mixed with fear, distrust, anxiety and uncertainty in our nation. In fact, a dark cloud hangs on the faces of the people.

’’The nation is moody and in a mourning mood. Only the collective will of the citizens and the government with God’s grace can change the sad and dark cloud hanging over Nigeria.

“For now, democracy has not taken firm root in our country. Our politicians and public office holders are still wobbling.

“Many politicians and public figures behave like semi-gods full of themselves and autocratic. We want to remind them that man today is, tomorrow he is not,” he added.

Christian Man Disguised As Muslim To Burn Down Churchch

A deadly tribal war that could have led to series of counter attacks and avoidable loss of innocent lives almost started this week, if not for providence.

According to what I gathered, a middle aged man (names withheld) disguised in kaftan and turban, was arrested while attempting to set ablaze a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of Church (RCCG) in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

A senior official of the State Security Service (SSS) in Yenagoa confirmed the unfortunate incident.

He however disclosed that upon interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect has no connection with the radical Boko Haram sect as he was a Christian from Edo State.

The SSS official said: “There is nothing like bombing of a Church in Bayelsa State. What actually happened was that a man was arrested while attempting to burn down a Church.

The man is said to have confessed to the Church of being an armed robber and the Church promised to rehabilitate him and paid his house rent for two years.

“When his rent expired, he went back to the Church demanding for additional House rent and the Church said they only promised to pay his rent for two years for him to find a job and be on his own. So the man decided to go back to the Church, attempted to burn down the Church yesterday (Tuesday evening) and was arrested. We have handed him over to the police.”

If this guy had succeeded with his wicked plan, he would have deceived many into believing that the attack on the Church was carried out by Boko Haram... May God save us from the enemy within!
