Over 90% Of Women And Girls Rescued From Sambisa Pregnant – UNFPA

As we celebrate the additional rescue of 234 woman and children from the grip of Boko Haram from  the dreaded Sambisa Forest, it has been revealed that about 214 of the rescued woman are pregnant.More tests are still being conducted on the woman to ascertain their general well being.

Giving this indication in Lagos, Executive Director, UNFPA, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin, also disclosed that in the last one year, the organization had taken deliveries of over 16,000 pregnancies in the troubled North East part of the country.
