Mrs Orekoya recount ordeal With the kidnappers And reveals how much they paid

When Mrs Orekoya was soliciting for N13million to pay the kidnappers of her children, many thought there was foul play and but when the culprit was caught and exposed, she was vindicated. Though we are all happy that the kids have been released, so many people are still interested in knowing how much ransome was paid for the release of the kids.Contrary to earlier claims that the Orekoya family paid the kidnappers who abducted their three kids the sum of N13 million, THISDAY can authoritatively report that the actual figure was N2.5 million.

Mrs. Adebisi Orekoya, had over the weekend, revealed that the family parted with N2.5 million as against the initial N15 million demanded by the kidnappers as ransom.

Speaking to a group of working mothers in Lagos at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Orekoya said:

“When they demanded N15million, I told them that we could not afford it and they later reduced it to N13million but we still told them we could not afford it.
“They then gave me an option of paying ransom for only one kid. They asked me to choose the one I love the most and pay the ransom for his release.
“But how could I choose one and leave any behind? I did not give birth to the three of them in one day. The police told me to keep begging them so that they can be online and enhance the tracing.
“With their calls, the police were able to trace them to Sasha but couldn’t narrow it down to their particular location.
“When they finally agreed to what we had, they sent a GTbank account number to us and we paid in N2.5million as instructed.
“We then sent him a text message that we had paid in the money. He said he would confirm first to know if we flagged the account and then get back to us.
“He later called back by 3p.m. and said he has confirmed payment. He told us to go to Ogijo and pick our kids but when we got there, he said he was already in Sagamu.
“We had someone track his location and it showed he had gone to Oshodi and then back to Egbeda. I and my husband went back home.
“We were at Anthony, when someone called that they saw our kids naked in front of an uncompleted building. We asked them to snap them and send their pictures to my Whatsapp (a social media).
“When they sent the picture, it was my kids and we called the police to go pick them up. And they did and that was how we were reunited with our kids.”

CRUEL!!! Notorious Gang That Kidnapped And Killed Ex Deputy Gov Anambra State Have Been Caught!(MUST READ)

Read this, you will know there are devil's incarnate walking amongst us!!! The Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, paraded three suspected members of a notorious kidnap gang that killed former commissioner/ Ex Deputy Gov of Anambra State, Dr. Chudi Nwike.

Nwike was kidnapped on March 19, 2013 and a N30 million ransom was demanded by his abductors who reportedly murdered him after taking N5 million as ransom.
Parading the suspects alongside four others, among whom were three Ibadan‑based alleged hired assassins, who confessed to have been given N140,000 as advance payment to eliminate a businessman in Lagos, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, said the arrest of the kidnap suspects followed the arrest of one Monday Odieto in Benin, Edo State, by the Divisional Police Officer in‑charge of Ikoyi, Aisha Haruna.
How they were nabbed

Manko explained that during interrogation, Odieto confessed to belong to a 30‑man kidnap gang operating in the South‑South and South‑East axis of the country and further confessed to have been involved in the kidnap of a Supreme Court judge’s wife, Justice Rhodes-Vivour, last year along the Lagos/Benin expressway.

His confessional statement, according to Manko, led to a manhunt for those indicted. He said the pursuit led to the arrest of Godspower Ovwigho, 31, and Stanley Efetobor, 29. He said they were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti‑ Robbery Sqaud.
Manko said: “After a long manhunt, one Godspower Ovwigho, was tracked and arrested at Ikorodu, Lagos State on April 23. He was identified by Monday Odieto as being a top ranking member of the gang. On April 24, one Stanley Efetobor, who is also a gang member, was also arrested by SARS.”

How suspects ambushed prisons officials , freed leader
During interrogation, the suspects, according to Manko, confessed to be among those who ambushed some prison officials in Okere, Warri, Delta State while their leader, simply identified as Rufus was being taken to court in March last year. Some prison officials were reportedly killed in the attack.

According to him, “Efetobor confessed to be a member of the gang that rescued one of their former gang leaders, one Rufus, at Okere raid in Warri, Delta State.
“He confessed that the raid was carried out when some prisons officials were taking him to court from prison yard in March, last year. The suspects confessed that several prisons officers lost their lives in that operation.

“He also confessed that their gang kidnapped the wife and daughter of Justice Rhodes-Vivour. The same gang kidnapped former Anambra  Ex Deputy Gov and demanded N30 million as ransom. Although they got N5 million from the family, they still killed the man and told the wife to use the remaining N25 million to bury her husband. But we are still continuing with our investigations.”

Why we killed former dep gov— Suspect

Godspower Ovwigho, 27, told a bewildered crowd that his gang killed the former deputy governor because his wife was heady.
According to him, “we killed the commissioner because his wife tried to prove difficult. We demanded N30 million but they gave us only N5 million. After the payment, they promised to give us more but did not. It was Rufus that shot him dead when the wife refused to pay more. Rufus is our leader.

“We held him hostage in a three-bedroom flat in Kokori town, in Delta State. When the negotiators brought the money and Rufus discovered it was N5 million, he drove all of them away. He, thereafter, charged into the bedroom where the deputy governor was and told him that his wife was daring us.
“He called the victim’s wife on the phone and asked why the money was slashed. She told him that was all they were able to gather. Out of anger, he shot the former deputy governor four times and called his wife again on the phone and told her to use the balance to organise his burial.”

I got N40,000 out of the N5m-Another suspect

His alleged partner in crime, Stanley Efetobor, 29, lamented that his share of the N5 million was only N40,000.
Meanwhile, the three suspected hired assassins who left Ibadan for Lagos, to snuff life out of a businessman, one Victor Adelakun, disclosed that they were promised N140,000 after executing the job.

The suspects, according to Manko, were arrested in a night club on Allen Avenue by operatives of SARS on May 10, 2014 while strategising on how to get their target.
But the trio of Ibrahim Lawal (27), Emmanuel Adewale (25 ) and Yomi Olarewaju (25) claimed they intended kidnapping their victim.

Although in an earlier interrogation, they reportedly told the operatives that their mission was to assassinate their victim. But Ibrahim stated yesterday:
“We wanted to kidnap him. That was the instruction given to us. We were promised N300,000 if the deal succeeded. We were given N100,000 as advance fee

“We were just at the club waiting for the victim because we were told he usually drinkthere. While we were discussing how to get him, we did not know how the Police got wind of our mission and apprehended us.” culled

SSS parades suspects in attempted kidnap of Late president Umaru Yar'adua’s daughter

Kidnapping is now a really big business in Nigeria, no wonder the youths in the above picture have to devise a calculated scheme of kidnapping the daughter of a former Nigerian president.
The State Security Service (SSS) recently paraded two suspects alleged to have plotted the abduction of one of the daughters of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

According to SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, the suspects, Hamza Abubakar (27) and Dennis Okoro (43) on August 21 attempted to abduct the unnamed daughter of the late president at a construction site at Kado, Abuja, said to be owned by the lady.

Ogar said having cultivated the friendship of a security guard at the construction site, Abubakar co-opted Okoro and other accomplices to carry out the operation but the attempt was foiled in the nick of time.

Similarly, one Nicholas Eze was also paraded for document counterfeiting and extortion of various sums of money from five illegible candidates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for whom he succeeded in securing postings for national service in different states.

Eze collected a total sum of N530, 000 from his five female undergraduate “clients”, with which he produced call up letters and other documents that enabled them enlist at the NYSC.

The female undergraduates claimed to be students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and they enlisted the services of Eze to enable them join other qualified graduates for the compulsory national service.

Nigeria Police Are Liars, They Didn't Rescue Me,My Kidnappers Gave Me N200 –– Bishop Kattey

This is what the Archbishop of Niger Delta Province of the Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey said about his kidnapping and freedom after spending 9 days in the den of the kidnappers

“The Police did not rescue me, neither were they the ones who rescued my wife, Beatrice. I saw the Police for the first time two days ago, after the incident. I heard the statements made by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO. The police are telling lies. If you cannot trust the Police, then who can you trust? I told the Commissioner of Police and he has apologised.
“I know that they made efforts but they did not rescue us. A helicopter flew over the area more than 500 times, but the boys (kidnappers) were smarter. They held me in a thick forest and no one could see me there.
“On the day of my release (September 14), the kidnappers moved me and we trekked a number of kilometres till we got to a road. Then they gave me N200 and ordered me to walk towards a direction where I would get a bike. We thank God for His mercies because I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to go through that experience,”

Kattey, who is Dean of the Nigerian Anglican Communion, also said that he was not aware if any ransom was collected over his release, explaining that he was not tortured by his abductors.
He added that: “From my experience, the abductors are hungry and in dire need of means of livelihood. Some are adequately educated but lack the enabling environment to positively express themselves. If government will give the people potable water, light and good roads, they will change.”

The Police Command, Lagos, yesterday said it had arrested 10 persons who allegedly kidnapped a Nigerian and a Chinese after collecting N8.5 million of ransom.

The Police Commissioner in the state, Umar Manko, said this in Lagos while parading the suspects and the exhibits taken from them.

Mr. Manko said two of the suspects were arrested on July 3 for alleged kidnap of a certain Mr. Kingsley Ifeanyi and Kauang Yingjun, senior employees of ZTE Nigeria Ltd., Ikoyi, Lagos.

“After the arrest of the two suspects and their confession to the Special Ant-Robbery Squad (SARS), eight others were arrested.

All the suspects confessed to have collected N8.5 million of ransom.

“One of the suspects, identified as Akaniyene, an employee of ZTE, who resides at the Boys’ Quarters, where the company is located, confessed to have given information that led to the kidnap of Yingjun.

He claimed he was given N700,000 from the ransom collected.

During a search at the residence of the suspects, two locally made double-barrel pistols and 18 cartridges were recovered.

“The hideout they used for keeping kidnapped victims at Epe has been identified and searched,’’ Mr. Manko said. One of the suspects identified as Taiwo, 33, claimed he was a driver responsible for hiring vehicles for ZTE Company.

He said that the gang decided to kidnap the victims due to alleged maltreatment meted to Nigerians in the company. “The way they were maltreating the black in the company was bad.

They sacked an old man of about 70 years after working for about six years with them. They did not pay him any money until we protested, then, they gave him N15, 000.

“I discussed the issue with one of the suspects who told me that they have been thinking of what they would do.

We agreed on the money; we collected N8.5 million and my share was N1.5 million,” he finished.

Update On Kamene Okonjo: Kidnappers Demand N200m Ransom

Negotiations have begun in earnest with the kidnappers of Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was kidnapped on Sunday in Delta State.

The kidnappers allegedly contacted the family on phone Monday afternoon and initially demanded to speak with the minister but were not allowed to do so. Instead, they were made to speak with the eldest son of the victim, Onyema, who relocated to Ogwashi-Uku on Monday to coordinate the safe release of his mother.
The minister, who was ready to travel down to Ogwashi-Uku was advised against the move by the security agents and the Delta state governor just as we learnt the abductors first demanded the resignation of the minister as a pre-condition for her mother’s release.
Onyema, it was learnt, insisted on speaking with his mother to ascertain the state of her health and to be sure that he was not dealing with impostors before he could negotiate with the abductors.
It was after he had spoken to his mother whom we gathered is in high spirits despite her traumatic ordeal, that the kidnappers changed their demand by asking that the minister of finance to bring the money the FG recovered from oil marketers who allegedly defrauded the country under the fuel subsidy regime.
Further negotiations with the kidnappers made them reduce the ransom from N1 billion to N200 million, it was learnt.
