Lagos-based gospel artiste, Morenike Adeleke, aka Egbin Orun has revealed that her beauty causes men to constantly make advances at her despite knowing her marital status.

She made this known in a chat with Punch Art and Life. She further stated that gospel artists who flaunt their beauty are the architects of their own misfortune.

Morenike Adeleke is a woman of many parts. She is a medical practitioner, a gospel singer and a cleric who describe herself as a prophetess.

One thing that will, however, strike whoever is encountering her for the first time is her beauty. People who are addicted to fair complexion will particularly have to look at her more than once. No wonder, her stage name is ‘Egbin Orun’, meaning, ‘Beauty of Heaven’.

But Adeleke, who has just released another album, says the beauty she values most is not the physical. According to her, she nicknamed herself ‘Egbin Orun’ because she is beautiful from the within, saying it is a spiritual prettiness.

But many guys seem to see this beyond such a philosophical position. As a result, one of the challenges that Adeleke faces is that many men make advances to her, even when they know she is married and is a prophetess.

She says, “My experience in the industry in the last few years that I have taken it professionally has been challenging. Despite my call as a prophetess, could you believe that men still make passes at me? It’s unbelievable. Men are unpredictable. They are always on my neck. But with my call, I handle them politely.”

Adeleke says her husband supports her greatly and advises other gospel acts not to sacrifice their faith and home for nothing.

She says of those who dress suggestively, “Gospel artistes that flaunt their beauty are the cause of their own misfortune. The Holy Bible says we should make our beauty a hidden one. It’s not until you go nude that people will appreciate you as being beautiful. You don’t go about sing-praising your own beauty, people around should be the judge.”
