Nigerians Will Stone Jonathan If We Expose His Secrets - Governor Adams Oshiomhole

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who chaired a special committee set up by the National Economic Council, NEC, in this interview with Vanguard revealed that Goodluck Jonathan administration plundered the nation’s economy despite the defence being put forward by the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

As a matter of fact, the Governor who is a member of the NEC made further disclosures, revealing that under the watch of Okonjo-Iweala, the Federal Government spent the sum of N140billion on consultancy for the Second Niger bridge. He said the money was sourced from the Sovereign Wealth Fund, SWF, illegally, asserting that the Igbos must hold the former President responsible since such amount was expended with no bridge on ground.

He insists that the nation cannot succeed unless people are prosecuted, stressing that "If Nigerians know what these people did, they will stone them to death, jungle justice. 700 million dollars gone on second Niger bridge without any bridge to show."

Oshiomhole, visibly angry, said he may not be able to reveal as much as he would have liked but maintained that if Nigerians knew what actually went down during Jonathan’s reign, they would stone him and his cabinet members on the street.

Sir, National Assembly approved the 75million dollar loan to Edo State, but the PDP opposed the loan deal saying the state is already heavily indebted, how would you react to that?
First, is that the PDP does not believe in development and for them anything that will bring prosperity to the people negates what they stand for. Which is politics for the benefit of PDP leaders. And of course they are embarrassed by the amount of goodwill that we have continued to enjoy from the people of the state; it is not easy to be in government for six and half years and you can still walk the streets – on and off.

You find people trooping out to hail you and, see, they have been praying, with the declining oil prices such that many states can’t pay salaries.

DPR Collected N30billion illegally - Governor Adams Oshiomole

Governor Adams Oshiomole, who has been in the news in recent times over his allegations on the misappropriation of funds in the last administration, says he will not be silent when people are abusing power and stealing government funds.

Oshiomole, who was a guest at a seminar organized by the Post-Mortem sub-committee of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) yesterday July 29th, alleged that the Department of Petroleum Resources collected N30 billion illegally during the last administration...

"Chairman, you must compel the DPR to refund the money. Edo state will pursue its own share of that money because we have not authorized the DPR to take it. And we have the right to go to court if it is not done because for me I want to die for something and not for nothing because I know I will die. DPR’s budget as I understand is about N4 billion annually and in one month illegally they have deducted 4 per cent from certain accruals from royalties among others amounting to over N2 billion. If your annual budget is about N4 billion and you collect over N2 billion in one month which means in a year you are going to collect close to between N24 and N30 billion where your total expenditure is not more than N4 billion. This is not only illegal, it is unjust and not acceptable in a decent society. We cannot all keep quiet even in the face of everyone abusing power. We drive round the country we see a lot of our able young men. In today’s post mortem we want to know how much NIMASA has earned over the years under president Goodluck Jonathan that was never transferred to the federation account and where is the money and how much is it? We also want to know how much NPA transferred to the federation account and if they did not how much do they earn and where is the money?" he said

"Some Pastors Collected Money To Preach Against Buhari - Gov. Adams Oshiomhole Claims

The Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomole alleges that some pastors have collected money to preach against APC Presidential candidate, Gen Buhari.

Oshiomole made the allegation while receiving a PDP Chairmanship candidate and 2000 PDP members who defected to the APC yesterday March 9th.

"Some pastors after collecting money are now preaching that Buhari wants to convert the nation to Islam. When Buhari was Head of State with absolute power, did he convert Nigeria to Islam? Did he convert Dodan Barracks to Islam enclave? Are there not Christian Generals all over the place? The issue of this election is not about religion or tribe. It is about who has what it takes to repair our country. It is about who will give us light. If PDP couldn’t give us light in 16 years, shouldn’t we give it to someone else?

Take a critical look at this election, when NEPA takes light, do they segregate between Christians and Muslims? When they bring fixed charges, do they differentiate between Christians and Muslims? Are both Christians and Muslims not suffering the inefficiency of PDP’s 16 years of mis-governance? They are saying APC is a Muslim Party. How can a party that parades Christians such as me, Chief John Oyegun, Prof Osinbanjo and many others be described as a Muslim Party? Now let’s look at it, if Nigeria’s problem is about religion, since 1999 till now, Christians have ruled the nation for 14 years, how come if it is really about religion that despite ruling for 14 years, Nigeria that ought to be like heaven is still like hell? Nobody should use God’s name to deceive the people. The matter of governance is not about what you claim but about the state of your heart. In this state, from 1999 till now, all those that have governed Edo State are all Christians yet those that governed from 1999 till 2007 did nothing. Are we not all Christians but is it all of us that worked? They even stole from Church because when you do not pay salaries for 3 months can the workers pay their tithe?
In Edo State, Christians, Muslims and Traditional worshippers live together in peace and harmony. Across Edo State you find people of different religion and nobody should bring religious war to Edo State. While appealing to the people to jealousy guard their PVCs, Oshiomhole said: “In this local government we have always won and in this 2015, we will still win. PDP has destroyed Nigeria and we must vote them out. Now they are planning how to rig the election but it won’t work. If anyone approaches you to sell your PVC, do not sell it. Don’t sell your voting right for one meal.
When they approach you to exchange your PVC for money, refuse and let them know that your poverty cannot be negated for stupidity. This month of March, by the Grace of God we are marching to victory.” Leader of the decampees, Chief Edegbe Ugbogbo said he went to test the PDP but couldn’t cope and assured the Governor that he will collaborate with the APC leadership to sustain development in the state as he is very impressed with the developmental strides of the State Governor. “I am here with my followers to formally return to the All Progressive Congress and come March 28th and April 11th, 2015, we will ensure that APC wins in all the wards of this Local Government.” he said.

Divine Encounter : ''Governor Adams Oshiomhole Should Marry Go And Die Widow''- Nigerians Say

The governor of Edo state has made a good decision by apologising to oppressed widow, Mrs Joy Ifijeh but funny enough, some people want more than a mere apology.

Some people who saw several photos of the widower governor and the widow together want them to go behind just a cup of tea.

Folks want them to get married since both of them are single......(hahaha! i laugh)

Newsmen interviewed some persons who assumed the two met by divine arrangement.

The respondents were of the opinion that, being a widower, there was no harm in the Governor remarrying and that it would be appropriate to marry a widow.

Check out some comments below:

“I am of the opinion and conviction that the meeting and the incident between the governor and the widow, which later attracted public attention, was divine. As we can see today, the governor felt for the woman, had to apologise over the error and even empowered her,” Albert Ashipa, a politician based in Edo State

“From my own opinion, I think God has a purpose for the two of them and there is nothing wrong if the two eventually fall in love, in view of their marital positions. I believe both cannot and should not remain single parents for life,” Adunni Eweje, a trader in Kuto market.

“The development is God’s doing and I want to advise the governor and the woman to make good use of the divine opportunity as they are known to be facing the same challenges,” Mr.Rasak  Ayinla, a civil servant said.

“I equally support the suggestion that the two may get married. Afterall, they are facing same challenges. And with the incident which occurred, I think it’s God’s calling and should see it as God’s doing’ “- said Olanrewaju Dasaolu, a businessman in Abeokuta, Ogun State .

From the look of things, the duo might be heading this way.

Within a week Mrs Joy Ifijeh was promoted from a common WAI official to a Special Assistant to the governor.

Mind my asking, would you like to see both parties together?

Governor Adams Oshiomole Gives "Go And Die Woman" N2,000,000.00

The Widow and Oshomole having breakfast together
I can call him Oshobaba now. I was really angry when i saw the tape of how he insulted the widow and i felt like the woman could have been my mother because she is somebody's mother. After all said and done, another party wanted to make political gain from the incidence, but it is a great man that knows when he has fallen short.

The Governor this morning invited the widow he told to ‘go and die’, Mrs Joy Ifile to the State house where he gave her an automatic job and also donated the sum of N2m to her. The Governor invited her to his office, so that he could personally apologise to her. In his words, Oshiomhole said;

“Let me apologise to you for the way I spoke to you. I am very sorry about the statement. I have also realised that even in anger, one could still achieve the same result that he set out to without provocative outburst. I apologise from the bottom of my heart, but sometimes you get angry when people compromise your efforts.”

OSHIOMHOLE DESERVES VICE-PRESIDENTIAL TICKET AND BUHARI SHOULD MAKE SACRIFICES FOR THE GOOD OF THE PARTY

The chieftain of the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Odaro Omoregie, in this interview, urges General Muhammadu Buhari to go about his presidential ambition in the interest of the party, just as he declares that Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s leadership in Edo will guarantee victory for the APC in future elections in the state. Excerpts:

How optimistic are you that the APC will form the Federal Government in 2015?

You need to deploy wisdom when you play politics. It is becoming clearer by the day that there is a conspiracy  from the PDP in trying to jettison this new wind that is taking over the country now, the APC. They tried to thwart the registration but it did not work; and even today we are aware that there are groups working seriously to divide the APC by supporting certain elements as candidates.

I think internally we should have a new brand of leadership in the APC. For APC to continue to enjoy the support of the public, they should be able to bring out their best candidates and they must be young men and women. With the rumors going round now that people like General Buhari want to run for President, we are also hearing that Tambuwal is joining the APC,  we must ensure that we bring in new breed of politicians different from the PDP style.

The APC governors are doing well and I believe  some of them are also qualified to fly the presidential flag of the party. Some of them could also be Vice-President, people like Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who is doing very well in Edo state. We are believing that the APC can choose Oshiomhole as vice-president, then get somebody who will be generally accepted from the North as President.

Buhari’s presidential ambition
I know General Buhari very well, and I know that he is a man of integrity and man of his words. So if there is an arrangement that he should step aside with Tinubu so as to have an acceptable candidate, I think he will honor that. But don’t forget he is a man with broad based support and most of his supporters would want to see him rule this country once again.

But we will not give our support on emotional ground; I believe we must do what is best for the party to be able to kick out PDP from power. We really need the new breed to take over the leadership of  Nigeria and that is what APC should focus on. Buhari has exhibited leadership both as a military president and a civilian, but I think the APC arrangement now will necessitate him to become a statesman or a national leader of the party and play advisory role to ensure that younger people are brought into the system.

I believe he will honour the agreement but I know that some persons will push him but I know he should be wiser than that because for the APC to defeat the PDP, the leaders must make painful sacrifices. Nigerians will appreciate him more now if he stays at the back ground and assist the party to grow.

APC optimism
I am very optimistic about that.  It is only in Nigeria that we don’t remember that  election is a game of numbers and  performance. If you go back to the last 14 years of the PDP government, the impact has been  minimal, if you want to compare the revenue of the Federal Government with the development we are seeing, there is nothing to write home about.

Jonathan was our hope when he became President but if you look at what we are getting today Yar’Adua’s administration was even better. There is so much insecurity, poor road network, lack of steady power, poverty, unemployment, nothing is working. So I don’t think the PDP slogan of being the largest party in Africa will go beyond 2015, they will be defeated across board because they have failed the people.

Edo State APC
I don’t think we still have PDP in Edo; it is only on the pages of newspaper you hear comments as if they still exist here. But if you look across the state, in local governments, state Assembly, the PDP is no where and I believe we will finally bury them in the 2015 National Assembly election.

That is why I laughed when I read the former chairman of Owan West Local Asekhame saying that APC will not survive in Edo, he is day dreaming. I think what he is supposed to say is that the PDP might disintegrate into a different name both in Nigeria and Edo. The last local government election in Edo  gave a clear picture of what the people want and gone are the days where rigging was acceptable because of the lack of awareness of the electorate.

''Our Madam At The Top'' : Teacher Can't Read Own Certificate In The Presence Of State Governor(Video)

A drama unfolded during the verification exercise of primary school teachers’ certificates in Edo State on Tuesday as one of the teachers in the state, Mrs. Augusta Odemwingie, was unable to read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials.

Mrs. Odemwingie teaches at Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Benin City, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled visit to the State Staff Training Centre venue of the exercise was appalled that a teacher could not read, saying “if you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils? What do you write on the board?”

The Chairman of the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Patrick Ikosimi, who was also at the screening to monitor the exercise, said the woman’s failure was “an embarrassment to the education system at large.”

On arrival at the centre, the governor took time to peruse some of the teachers’ credentials and documents presented.

When Mrs. Odenwingie took her turn during the exercise, the governor who listened to her defence asked her to read the affidavit she presented.

She stuttered and read the affidavit as if a kindergarten was learning to read, to the shocking amusement of everybody around.
