18 dead and dozens missing after ferry packed with 200 passengers capsizes in Bangladesh(PHOTOS)

Eighteen people are dead and dozens more missing after a ferry packed with some 200 passengers capsized on a river in Bangladesh.

Among the dead was a young mother found cradling her baby's lifeless body following the disaster on the Meghna River in southern Bangladesh early this morning.

Local police chief Mohammad Shahabuddin Khan said about 35 people were rescued after the ferry collided with a cargo boat.

Indian woman Zarzoliani jailed for 7 years for stabbing a Nigerian boyfriend Victor Okon Efflong to death

An Indian woman Zarzoliani was on Tuesday jailed for 7 years for stabbing to death her live-in Nigerian boyfriend.

She was also ordered to send N2.2 million to the victim’s family in Nigeria.

28-year-old Zarzoliani was convicted for killing Victor Okon Efflong, 28, in 2008 as she did not approve his withdrawing money from her bank account.

Zarzoliani once worked in an orphanage in Manipur and had moved in with Victor in his rented apartment in north Delhi near Delhi University.

And during the court session the presiding judge Surinder S Rathi blasted the idea of live-in relationships by unmarried couple.

Angry Rathi dubbed a live-in relationship as “infamous western cultural product”, in remarks that are causing controversies in the western world.

The court noted that “there is nothing on record to show if family of the convict had consented to or was even aware of convict having a live-in relationship with the deceased Nigerian national Victor.”

Bill Gates mourns as world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional dies @ 16

A teenager who at age nine became the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional has died after suffering complications resulting from an epileptic stroke.

Arfa Karim Randhawa, 16 from Faisalabad, Pakistan was given the Microsoft Certified Professional award at 9 and was subsequently invited to Microsoft’s headquarters by Bill Gates where she impressed the executives with her programming knowledge.

After Karim fell ill and was taken to hospital, Bill Gates apparently reached out to the family and offered to pay for her medical care, proposing moving Karim to the U.S. for better treatment, although doctors decided it was against her best interests given she was on a ventilator.

Her father, Amjad Karim, revealed that he was saddened to learn of her death and the loss of such a rare talent.

Funeral prayers were offered on Sunday in Lahore before her body was taken to her native village Ram Dewali, Faisalabad, for burial.
