Senate is yet to receive ministerial list- Dino Melaye

President Buhari promised to release the full ministerial list by the end of September and everyone was really looking forward to the unveiling of their ministers but it seems the APC leaders have not made up their minds as the senate has not receive any list from the presidency. Chairman of the Senate adhoc committee on publicity, Dino Melaye made this known to National assembly correspondence after the end of today's sitting

"I want to announce we are still waiting for the ministerial list from the president I want to advise there is no need for agitation. September expires 12 midnight today and I want to assure Nigerians that as soon as we get possession of the list, we will communicate to them.
I also want to assure Nigerians that we will attend to the ministerial list expeditiously but diligently. It is not going to be business as usual. We are going to properly screen the nominees and only those who meet the constitutional and moral requirements will be cleared. We want Nigerians not to be agitated. September expires 12 midnight. The doors of the senate are opened 24 hours"he said

The Government of Goodluck Jonathan is the most corrupt in Nigerian history- Dino Melaye Blast

Now that Dino Melaye is a senator-elect, am sure we will be enthralled in many anti-corruption campaign.  The former House of Representative member and Senator-elect  has accused President, Goodluck Jonathan, of running the most corrupt government in the history of Nigeria. In a​n interview​ with Premium Times, ​​​Mr. Melaye, emphasised that the government of Mr. Jonathan massively promoted corruption.

“Jonathan is the promoter of corruption. I am telling you that the Government of Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan is the most corrupt in Nigerian history but (who) we have as president-elect of this country today (Muhammadu Buhari); the man I see as the nemesis of corruption.”

About campaigning against corruption when he resumes office, Melaye said;

“Change! I am an advocate of anti-corruption and for me if I enter office, I am going to do it more this time around. More importantly, now that we have a government that is going to have zero tolerance for corruption, we must as legislators carry out our functions from any form of sacrifice.”

Practice What You Preach : Wife Of Anti-Corruption Leader Dino Melaye, Files For Divorce Over Domestic Abuse(Report)

 The founder of anti-corruption network in Abuja and former house of rep member, Honourable Dino Melaye is presently in a messy wife abuse scandal, which has made her filled for a divorce.

His marriage of many years to his wife, Tokunbo has hit a dead end after she filed for divorce over constant beating she suffered from him.

According to sources, the drama between the couple started long ago, a source said Dino Melaye’s anger problem surfaced when he impregnated Nollywood actress Bisi Ibidapo Obe.

The source further said Dino Melaye has turned his wife into a punching bag and that anytime they had an argument his wife would end up in the hospital being treated for all kinds of injuries.

Aside from allegedly sleeping with his house girl,which was one of the major problems, there are also confirmed whispers that sometimes when Tokunbo went to work he removed her picturess from the house walls and brought in different women in their matrimonial bed telling them his wife had died, and even getting the domestic staff to say their madam was resting with the Lord”.

The insiders continue – ‘‘for the past 9yrs, Dino has been beating his wife to the point that there are police records stating some reported instances, she was five months pregnant with her second son when the beatings began, and it got worse.

she was rushed to Zanlin hospital in 2005 at exactly 10pm, and was treated for injuries on head. He hit her with an iron rod.

In October 2010, she was rushed to Wuse general hospital by the police themselves after she ran in her bloodied nightgown with deep cuts on her arms.

The report says Dino used a plank to flog her aiming for the head but she used her arms to protect herself and ended up with deep deep cuts that needed emergency room attention.

On September 25, 2013 Tokunbo and Dino had an argument and he pulled a silver pistol to her head and was seconds away from pulling the rigger when his ringing phone distracted him. She took off leaving behind her shoes.

Tokubo Melaye has filed for divorce and has applied to get custody of her kids. Meanwhile, her parents have send a warning letter to Dino Melaye over the domestic abuse case.

Anti-Corruption Man, Dino Melaye Arrested For Organizing ''Stella Oduah-Must-Go Protest''

The police in Abuja on Wednesday arrested the Executive Director, Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye, after the former House of Representatives member led pro-democracy activists on a protest, calling for the removal of the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, over the armoured car scandal.

The minister has recently come under fire for allegedly ordering the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy her two bullet-proof BMW cars, worth $1.6m (about N255m).

The protest, which held at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, around 11am, was not without drama as some groups also staged a counter-protest, to drum up support for the embattled minister.

While the police averted an impending clash between the two groups, the security operatives, led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Sunday Olukoya, allowed the pro-Oduah protesters to leave, but stopped the bus conveying Melaye supporters, declaring that they are under arrest.

Melaye, however, protested, asking the police the rationale behind the arrest of the protesters and offering to be arrested in their place.

The former lawmaker said, “When the police pension fund was stolen, we protested on behalf of the police; we were not arrested. When we protested against the theft of fuel subsidy fund, we were not arrested.

“Now that we are protesting the theft of the nation’s money by the action of the minister, who used Nigeria’s money to buy armoured cars in the midst of lack, we are under arrest. The money was not budgeted for, not appropriated.

“The protest affects everybody; the police are also affected because they are taxpayers. I’m also a taxpayer.”

Melaye and others were later arrested by the police and whisked away in a Toyota Hilux van, marked NPS 21280 at about 1pm.

After the Ministry confirmed that they bought bullet proof cars for the Minister of Aviation worth N225Million, Hon. Dino Melaye has taken the issue seriously as he proves the minister has defrauded the nation because he has confirmed that the vehicles are no where near the price the minister claimed she bought the vehicles for.

Stella Oduah claimed that she spent N255million on two exotic cars, but Dino Melaye contacted companies in America and Germany and they told him that the "REAL" cost of those cars is N96million.

Dino Melaye’s Wife Wades Into His Pregnancy Scandal

Former Kogi lawmaker, Dino Melaye is in the news again, this time for allegedly impregnating Yoruba actress Bisi Ibidapo Obe, among other rumours concerning his sexual escapades.

In a recent magazine interview, Bisi Ibidapo Obe accused the ACN member of impregnating her, then later asking her to get an abortion.

According to the actress, she met Melaye in April through a friend, Lola Alao. “We got to know each other and at a point I was scared because he was all over me. Over time, he showed me he meant well and we became good friends. Somehow, one thing led to the other and we started dating. He appeared nice, loving and showed me a lot of affection” she said.

The affair reportedly continued, but Ibidapo-Obe says while she was on a trip in Canada with fellow actresses Foluke Daramola and Moji Olaiya, she began noticing certain symptoms, prompting her to take a pregnancy test: “I can remember that it was Moji Olaiya that went to buy the pregnancy kit that later confirmed I was pregnant. Immediately, I called Dino in Nigeria and shared the news with him. He was excited about it and he told me he was looking forward to seeing me in Lagos soon. When I returned, he received me with joy and on an occasion he took me to his hometown, Kabba in Kogi State. He told me he wanted to marry me. He was so nice to me.”

Bisi claims they planned a big society wedding, only for the controversial politician to renege a few weeks later, saying he couldn’t go ahead with it as planned because his parents were clerics and it was against their practice to marry a pregnant bride, therefore she had to abort the pregnancy. “I was shocked. I wept uncontrollably all night” she said.

Bisi refused to abort the pregnancy, causing a rift with Melaye, who she says refused to see her or return her calls. She says friends who were sent to speak and plead with him to reconsider his decision didn’t make him change his mind.

“Since June, Dino, never showed, he never came. He stopped picking my calls. But each time I tried to call him with another mobile number, he would pick the call, but as soon as he finds out I’m the one on the phone he will drop it. I have not wronged Dino, I have only chosen to do what is right to me but he sees it differently. I’m no longer a kid. It’s painful that such action is coming from a man who claims he loves the masses, the oppressed people of this country and he is oppressing me. “My fate is in the hands of God and He will see me through. I have not been working to earn any money but I have found favour before God and a couple of my friends. I know I’m not alone in this. God is with me” she concluded.

Reacting to the allegations, the former house of assembly member branded Bisi Ibidapo Obe a ‘serial liar’, asking friends and family not to be bothered by the rumours:

“I am not disturbed about slanderers, I also counsel my beloved friends not to be worried at all over this [sic] wicked lies from the pit of hell. I am more than capable to tackle liars and claimants. I am not distracted a bit about this joke and imaginary creation of a serial liar. Am not her 1st victim and may not be the last. Matthew 5:11-12 is clear. No slowing down, no loitering, no parking.”

But in a swift response, one Moses Yomi Fabiyi, who claims to be Dino’s in-law is drumming up support for Bisi on twitter:

In no time came yet another reaction, this time from Dino’s wife, Tokunbo Melaye, who, sources say, initially berated her husband publicly. She however seemed to have had a change of heart, as she stood by her man in spite of the allegations:

Revealed! Why They're Desperate To Bring Dino Melaye Down

These revelations are from a Doctor (name withheld) who said he knows Hon. Dino Melaye very well and that he's proud of what the guy has done for the advancement of this country.

He insisted that some powerful interests are bent on bringing Dino down for their selfish agenda and urged other well-meaning Nigerians not to allow the blackmail by "the girls of the night" to confused them into seeing Dino as a bad person.

Below is the Doctor's position of the Dino Melaye saga:

People try to be bring you down when they see that you are doing something good, the devil always comes in different ways to cause confusion, For the past four days i have read alot of outrageous slander against a man who has the people at heart, who has fought for corruption, who has been arrested because of his fight for a better nigeria, Now i don't know how much these people were paid to slander this man's name, i am not saying he is a perfect human being, but what do you gain by the insults when most of you are worse? He who is without sin amongst us let him be the first to cast a stone. 

Most of us don't even know who Dino Melaye is but join others to rain curses at him, Otunba Dino Melaye was a former member of the House of Representatives and also the former chairman house committee on information and national orientation, a social crusader, human right activist, public analyst and a politician. He moved a lot of motions out of which 36 was about anti-corruption.

He moved the highest number of motions in the history of the National Assembly. Famous among them was his motion that lead to the revocation of the sale of Ajaoukuta steel and Delta Steel Aladja, he also moved a motion against President Umaru Yaradua When he went to borrow 300 billion from the world bank which he later returned.

He moved a motion on the state of education in Nigeria, he argued that all the children of political office holders should attend public schools. He did a research and found out that over 400billion was spent for medical trips abroad for political office holders, he advocated that there should be a stop to sponsoring political officers on medical trips abroad and the money should rather be used for developing our hospitals. 

He also sponsored a bill for the establishment of the national cardio thoracic centers in the six geological zones of Nigeria as there is currently none in Nigeria, he was motivated to sponsor the bill when he visited Ghana, and found out that Ghana with a population of 18million people is building their 2nd national cadio thorasic center and he also discovered that 34 Nigerian cardiologists are presently working in d cardio thoracic center in Ghana, in the history of NASS he was the 1st to resign his chairmanship because he couldn't work with a corrupt leadership, as committee chairman he also recovered billions from failed contractors back to the government account. He has been fighting against corruption even in Abacha's tenure and even got arrested for long. 

In january he started the protest that eventually enveloped the entire country and even got arrested and detained. Otunba Dino Melaye's Foundation known as Imole de foundation for widows and orphans has been running for more than 10years now, and he is set to commission his new orphanage in January 2013. So i wonder why people would want to tarnish the image of a wonderful man, how much where you paid?

As a student in Amadu Bello University, he sued the university to court. Dino Melaye, the lion of the Nigeria parliament, a political colossus, one single Nigerian with multiple competences. I will never forget Dino's motion on the 2nd runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja, which was award to Julius Berger for 64 billion Naira after due process and approval of the Federal Executive Council. The President as a result of his motion set up a committee that reduce the contract to 49billion Naira. The indomitable, indefatigable Melaye took the matter back to the floor again and comparatively augured that the contract on a 25% profit margin will not cost more than 8 billion Naira. 

He was able to convince his colleagues and the President eventually cancelled the contract. Melaye again moved a motion on the floor of the house on the airport-Kubwa expressway contract awarded to Julius Berger where the MD of JB argued that some billions of Naira on the contract paper was a typographical error. Melaye yet again saved Nigeria 100 billion on that contract. 

Those who thought Melaye just started activism, should cast there mind back to the appearance of Melaye alongside Pat Utomi with Frank Olise on Tuesday live, an NTA programme in 2001. His role on the the cancellation of the 5K note remain indelible. Melaye despite pressure from the NEC of the PDP to drop charges against Dimeji Bankole refused to do so until justice is done. 

Dino Melaye the fighter, eloquent speaker, voice of the voiceless and Joshua of our time.
