President Buhari Visits Abuja Bomb Blast Victims, Pays Bill of Girl Shot by Robbers
President Muhammadu Buhari today paid a visit to the victims of the Abuja twin bomb blasts which happened on Friday night October 2nd. He visited the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital where he interacted with some of the victims.
He wished them speedy recovery and reassured them that the Federal Government will take full responsibility for settling their medical bills.
He directed his Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari to settle the N268,790.00 medical bill of a young girl in the Paediatric Ward of the hospital.
The girl’s mother, Deborah Stephen, had broken into tears on seeing President Buhari. She told him that her daughter had been shot by armed robbers who raided their home and that the family could not afford the medical bills. President Buhari was accompanied by his personal aides and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State. See more photos below...
Bomb blast Hits Damaturu, Yobe State This Morning
According to latest reports, at least 5 people are feared dead with another 41 seriously injured after a bomb went off at a bus terminal in Damaturu, Yobe state this morning. A young girl is suspected to be the suicide bomber.

A female suicide bomber this morning detonated a bomb at a predominantly Muslim settlement in Damaturu, Yobe state. Three people have been confirmed dead from the blast.

Sad : Kogi Radio Station Bombed, 4 killed
There was a bomb blast on TAO FM in Okene, Kogi State, last night at about 8pm which left 4 people, suspected to be security personnel dead.
The radio station which was located at the centre of Okene town, which is the headquarters of Kogi Central Senatorial District has been reduced to nothing. The radio station which broadcasts mainly in Ebira language was popularly known for its radical stance on politics of the people of Ebira.
Kogi state Police Public Relations Officer, Shola Collins, confirmed the incident said that police detectives had already been mobilized to the scene of the incident.
The reason for bombing the radio station was not known as no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The bomb explosion destroyed the radio station at about 8pm on Monday 27th April.
The police have promised to capture the perpetuators of this crime and are currently investigating the case.
Fresh Bomb Blast Hits Plateau State
A bomb explosion reportedly occurred this morning around 9.45am at the Nigerian Army’s 3rd Armoured Division barracks at Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The casualty figure is yet unknown.

Kano Mosque Bomb Blast Victims In Need Of Blood And Food
According to the North West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Authority NEMA, Musa Illamah, most of the surviving victims of the Central Mosque Kano bomb blast that happened on Friday Nov 28th are in dire need of blood and consumables.
"We went round the hospitals to assess the conditions of those who are receiving treatment and we were told that what they need most is blood and consumables. I spoke with the officials of the Federal Ministry of Health and and they have assured me that they would mobilize blood bank in Katsina to supply blood to the hospital" he told newsmen.
Residents in Kano have been trooping to the various hospitals where the victims are being treated to donate blood.
Sad: Over 200 killed In The Kano Central Mosque Bomb Blast Yesterday
Over 200 people were reportedly lost their lives in the bomb blast that occurred yesterday afternoon at the Kano Central Mosque where the Emir of Kano usually leads prayers.
Some eye-witnesses and rescue officials put the figure at 300, making it one the deadliest bomb attacks in the country.
According to eyewitnesses, three bombs went off one after the other at the 10,000 capacity Mosque during the Friday Jumat prayers. Two went off inside the Mosque, and one outside. And when people tried to flee the scene, gun men opened fire on worshipers. Many of the casualties were children who couldn't run as fast. Some were trampled to death in the mayhem that ensued.
When normalcy returned hours after the attack, the dead and wounded, said to be over 250, were taken to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital and the Nasarawa Hospital.
The Emir of Kano was out of the country when the incident occurred. He'd left the night before.
President Jonathan also cancelled his meeting with Nigerians entertainers at the Creative Industry event last night because of the blast.
Two Teenage Girls Dressed In Full Hijab Reportedly Blew Themselves Up In Maiduguri
Two female suicide bombers today blew themselves up in a crowded market in Maiduguri state, killing at least 30 people.
And according to Abba Aji Kalli, the Borno state coordinator of the Civilian Joint Task Force, the two teenage girls dressed in full hijab entered the busy market and detonated their explosives.
The first set off her explosives and killed about three women, said Kalli.
When others gathered around the scene, the second bomber screamed and blew herself up, killing about 30, he said.
"I am right here at the scene and I have before me 11 corpses ... many have been taken away by relatives, while others are taken to the state specialists' hospital," said Kalli.
Soldiers and police officers cordoned off the area while rescue workers helped survivors to the hospital.
Nigeria's Islamic extremist rebel group, Boko Haram, are suspected of the suicide blasts, as they have carried out many similar violent acts in northeastern Nigeria.
Today's blast is the first in Maiduguri since July 2 when 56 people were killed in the same market area when a car bomb hit a group of traders and shoppers.
The Nigeria police are still to issue a statement on today's blasts.
Another Female Suicide Bomber Attacks Market In Bauchi, Kills 12(Graphic Photo)
A female suicide bomber blew herself up yesterday evening November 16th in the middle of a mobile phone market in Azare, Bauchi state.
A witness who was at the scene of the blast told AFP that he saw at least 8 people dead.
“A suicide bomber came into the market as it was closing and blew herself up in the middle of all the merchants and their customers. I saw at least eight dead and lots of others wounded,” a witness, Alyu Habib told AFP.

Bomb Blast Reported Rocks Kano State Fuel Station
According to eyewitnesses, a bomb exploded at a fuel station in Hotoro along Maiduguri road in Kano yesterday evening. The witness said the bodies of at least 4 staff of the filling station were recovered. But many more people are feared dead.

How Suicide Bomber Sneaked Into Yobe School In Deadly Attack
The devastating attack on the Assembly ground of the Government Senior Science Secondary School, Potiskum which claimed the lives of at least 48 students and injured many others on Monday, was detonated by an unknown suicide bomber who sneaked into the school dressed like a student, witnesses said.
An obviously traumatised teacher who managed to speak with LEADERSHIP on phone, but wished not to be named because of his safety, said the bomb went off from the bag of a young boy who walked up to the assembly ground after an unidentified car dropped him off at the gate of the school at about 7:30am.
The sources said the suicide bomber was dressed in white shirt and black trousers which is the official dressing code for all senior students, and that he was hanging a heavy schoolbag on his shoulder.
“Many of us sighted him as he was dropped off by the car and watched how he confidently walked up to the assembly ground pretending to be one of the students”, said the teacher. “But unfortunately, he was immediately spotted by one of the duty teachers who noticed his odd appearance amongst other students, by carrying a bag to the assembly ground, even though the school is a boarding school.
The teacher on duty called his attention, asking him why he had to bring his bag to the assembly ground, but the bomber remained silent, ignoring the teacher. His attitude towards the teacher drew the attention of other students who milled around him to find out who he was. The teacher then moved closer to him, thinking he might be a new student on transfer since most of the students could not recognise him”.
The source said the teacher and some of the senior prefects who were not pleased with the rudeness of the fake student who continued to ignore the teacher, decided to force him to kneel down.
“It was during the process of asking him to observe the punishment of kneeling down that the explosive in the bag went off and unfortunately killed many of the students including the teacher who had inched closer to the scene to see what was happening”.
The source added that he survived because he did not go closer to the scene, thinking it was one of those usually rude students that the teacher was dealing with.
“I thank God that I am alive; but the deafening sound of the bomb affected my auditory system for several hours”, added the source. “Even from the distance that I stood before the blast, I found myself sprawling on the ground after the blast; that made me believe that the blast might have come from a huge explosive device”.
LEADERSHIP had also been informed that all the 72 injured students had since been referred to the Federal Medical Centre in Azare, Bauchi State, where the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam promised to foot all their medical bills. All schools within and around Potiskum town have been closed by the state government indefinitely.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Fika, Dr Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa has summoned an emergency meeting of all the district heads, ward heads and village heads under his domain at his palace where they brainstormed on how to tackle or avert similar attacks by the Boko Haram.
The Emir of Fika who is also the chairman of Yobe state Council of Chiefs expressed his deep concern about the continuous attacks and lost of lives as result of the Boko haram insurgency.
In a brief address to the gathering of over 30 title holders, the Emir whohad also managed to survive similar suicide bomb attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in August 2012, said he was indeed disturbed with multiple explosions in Potiskum town within one week.
“It is unfortunate and saddening that our young school children were murdered while learning for their future. I therefore urge all of you to monitor the behaviours of your children, relatives, neighbours and tenants”, he said.
Anyone asking to rent a house as tenant in your neighbourhood must be thoroughly interrogated so that criminals would not hide in your midsts; you are expected to report to the security agencies any suspicious movements in your domains.
The Emir reminded the chiefs that security of their communities must be a collective responsibility of all and the only means practicable to achieve the return of peace to the state, besides prayers.
At Least 10 Killed In Niger College Of Education Bomb Blast(Graphic Photo)
An explosion rocked the Federal College of Education Kontagora in Niger state today November 12th, as students were sitting exams..
Niger state police spokesman Ibrahim Gambari confirmed the blast at the Federal College of Education in Kontagora, while Mary Okafor said the explosion sent students fleeing as they sat tests.
"At least 10 students were killed and several others injured. They have all been moved to the general hospital. We have all been asked to vacate the school," she said. See remains of one of the victims below...

Breking News : Many Feared Dead As Bomb Explosion Rocks Yobe State
According to PREMIUM TIMES, A bomb attack has just occurred in Potiskum, Yobe state.
Eye whtnesses say a suicide bomber targeting members of the Shiite group, Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria, detonated his explosive vest, killing many instantly.
A resident of the town, Adamu Mohammed, told PREMIUM TIMES over the telephone that nearly 20 persons were killed and several others injured.
“My sister lost three of her sons in the blast,” he said.
The bombing took place at Faydia Islamic school, ran by the Shiite. It is located near the old market in Potiskum.
The bomber struck when members of the Shiite were gathering to go on a procession to mark the Ashura day
Ashura day is the tenth day of the month of Muharram, the new month of the Islamic calendar.
Shiite Muslims commemorate the day to mourn the death of Hasain Bn Ali, the grand son of Prophet Mohammed who was reportedly killed on that day.hen the bomber got into their midst and detonated his bomb.
Potiskum is the largest town outside Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
Although, the town had witnessed several bomb and gun attacks from members of the Boko Haram sect in the past, it has recently enjoyed relative peace.
That has now been punctured by today’s bombing.
Efforts to speak with the spokespersons of both the Police and the Joint Task Force, JTf, in the state were unsuccessful.
Bomb Explosion Rocks Bauchi Bus Station, See Remains Of Suicide Bomber(Graphic Photo)
A bomb explosion hit a bus station in Azare town in Bauchi state late last night, which killed at least five people and wounded another.
Reportedly behind the attack was a suicide bomber, suspected to be a member of Boko Haram.
The suicide bomber blew himself up at the parked bus station in Azare, Bauchi state. The Detonation consumed the bomber's mid section as the bomb exploded outward. See photo below...

How To Behave Around Bomb Scenes
Speaking with newsmen after the dire twin explosion that rocked Jos yesterday, May 20, Plateau Police Commissioner, Chris Olakpe, addressed Nigerians on how they should behave in case they are caught in the accident area.
The police representative urged people to restrain from rushing to the dangerous bomb scenes, adding that people around such sites should quickly lie down for "at least 30 minutes" before scurrying to safety, Premium Times reports.
Olakpe also called on Nigerians to immediately report suspicious people they spot to police.
Plateau State Commissioner of Information, Olivia Dzayem, asked the state residents to avoid panic, adding that "we are all pained by the development".
Reacting to the incident, which had reportedly already claimed 118 lives, the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Ignatius Kaigama, urged people to keep praying and claimed the attacks would end soon.
Over 200 killed this afternoon in Jos twin bomb blast(Graphic Photo)
There was a bomb explosion this afternoon at the densely populated Terminus Market near Murtala Mohammed way in Jos. The twin explosion, which occurred 30 minutes apart, reportedly killed at least 200 people according to eye-witnesses, making it deadlier than the Nyanya blast that took place in Abuja.
The bomb was planted in two cars, a Peugeot J5 van and a Toyota Sienna SUV with a Gombe state license plate number. Eye-witnesses said the car had been parked near the busy market since early this morning and had even drawn the curiosity of people in the area who allegedly alerted the police. SHOCKING : Another Bomb Blast Rocks Zuba Park, Nyanya Abuja
This is terrible, only a few weeks after the explosion at Nyanya bus terminal, the National Emergency officials have again, this evening reported an explosion at Zuba park beside furniture market, Nyanya, Abuja.
And according to eyewitnesses, there are many casualties, four dead persons have already been counted. The death and injury tolls are regrettably certain to rise, as there are more bodies on the ground... Emergency services and police on ground are currently evacuating survivors to local hospitals.
