Just In Time!!! Police avert another bomb blast in Kano
Despite the loss of 5 lives yesterday when a bomb was thrown into premises of St. Charles Catholic Church in the Sabon Gari area of Kano City shortly after church service around 1pm,the police averted another bomb blast that would have claimed more casualties.
Police operatives averted the calamity after discovering a Peugeot 406 car with registration number AA 513 ZAK, loaded with explosives at the mosque of Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu at Goron Dutse. Bomb experts neutralized the explosives immediately and no casualty was recorded.

Another Bomb Blast Hits Kano Central Park (Photos)
A bomb blast ripped through a central park in Kano State, today and according to reports, a woman was killed with at least eight others seriously injured.
The police spokesperson for Kano State, Magaji Majiya, said the explosion was caused by a bomb that targeted travelers at the Sabon Gari park. The bomber hid it inside a fridge and placed the fridge on a cart, and detonated it close to a luxurious bus at about 3:00 pm (1500 GMT) at the New Motor Park.
One bus affected by the blast is with registration number KTT 164 XA and owned by Ifeanyi Chukwu Industrial Services. The bus was loading passengers heading to Port Harcourt at the time of the blast. You recall that in March at least 60 were reported killed, and several vehicles destroyed by a bombing at the same motor park.
Breaking News : Bomb Blast In Kaduna This Afternoon Leaves At Least 25 People Dead - Report
A bomb which was concealed in a red Volkswagen golf car, went off this afternoon July 23rd along Alkali road which leads to the popular Murtala Square in Central Kaduna killing at least 25 people.
According to eyewitnesses, the bomb went off as a prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi(pictured below...) drove past the road. They believe the bomb was target at his convoy but according to witnesses, the cleric escaped unhurt while passersby were killed.
Other witnesses said the bomb was targeted at thousands of Muslims who gathered at the Murtala Square for Ramadan Tafsir under the leadership of Sheikh Bauchi.
The cleric is said to be an outspoken critic of Boko Haram and was on his way to the Murtala Square when the bomb went off. More update to come.

Acording to reports, over 50 people, with about 16 members of the Vigilante Youth, a.k.a Civilian JTF were killed, while another 68 persons were seriously injured when a Peugeot 505 saloon car carrying charcoal but laden with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) exploded around the busy Elkanemi Round-about, some 40 metres away from the office of the Power Holdings Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in Maiduguri, the Borno state Capital on in th early hours of today at about 7am. Breaking News : Another Bomb Blast Goes Off, Hits Ever Busy Maiduguri Market
According to reports coming from Borno State, a bomb explosion has hit Maiduguri market near the Power Holding Company building.
Eyewitnesses say, the explosion was from a van loaded with charcoal and IED, the blast was heard at about 8:20 a.m. They fear Many casualties could recorded as the area is usually a crowded commercial centre.
An officer of the State Security Service confirmed the explosion to newsmen minutes after it occurred. Emergency officials are said to be on their way to the explosion scene.
Sad! : Another Bomb Explosion kills 10 In A Brothel - Report
At least 10 persons have been confirmed dead with another 14 said to be seriously injured, after a bomb went off at a brothel in Bayangari in Bauchi state yesterday June 27th, at about 9.45pm.
The State Police Command spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident in a statement and said investigations has commenced but no arrest has been made so far.
"The entire surrounding has been cordoned and scene secure. No arrest has so far been made but investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause” Mr. Mohammed said in a statement late Friday night.
President Goodluck Jonathan Visits Abuja Bomb Blast Site And Survivors
After withdrawing from the AU summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, President Goodluck Jonathan today June 27th, visited the scene of the bomb blast that rocked Emab Plaza in Abuja on Wednesday June 25th, killing 21 people, with another victim who has been reported dead in the hospital bringing the casualties to 22.
The President, also visited some of the victims of the blast currently receiving treatment at the Maitama District Hospital in Abuja. See photos below.....

After the shocking evil that befell the once peaceful and beautiful city of Abuja, Some traumatized survivors of the Emab Plaza explosion in the city on Wednesday have recounted their experience, while thanking God for sparing their lives.
The victims, who spoke with a Punch correspondent at the Maitama District Hospital, were students, a fashion designer and a vendor. They gave their names as – Donald Tyokasi, Sulaiman Ademola, Junaid Taofeek Olatunji and Michael Ojeh. Ojeh’s mother, who was also in the hospital, said the whereabouts of her husband who was at the scene of the blast were still unknown as of 5pm on Thursday.

Bomber pretended to be drunk – Tyokasi
Tyokasi, a 22-year-old student of the National Open University of Nigeria, said:
“I am studying Business Entrepreneurship and Management. On that fateful day, I just crossed over to buy corn because I was a bit hungry. I bought the corn but when I turned
back, I saw the man (bomber) driving a Toyota Sienna and trying to get into the plaza through the exit gate. The security men told him to go back and follow the right way but he was behaving as if he was drunk.
Within seconds after I left that point, I heard a big bang and found myself on the ground. My right leg was affected. Presently, I can’t stand with it.
I saw corpses everywhere – Ademola
Twenty four –year-old Ademola, who is a fashion designer, also said the bomber insisted on going into the Plaza through the exit gate. He added:
“When he (bomber) was challenged by the security men at the exit gate, he insisted on going ahead. As he bent his head towards the Sienna that he was driving, I told my friend that we should get away from there.
Within a few seconds, there was an explosion. Many people died and that is why I give thanks to Almighty God. I saw many corpses on the ground. Heads, hands and legs littered everywhere.
I thought my head was blown off – Olatunji
Olatunji, a student of Biology/Integrated Science at the Federal College of Education, Kontangora, Niger State, said he arrived in Abuja from Oyo State on Wednesday only to be welcomed by the blast.
He said:
“I came from Oyo State yesterday (Wednesday) to hustle and make some money for my school fees before the end of the strike by Polytechnics and colleges of education workers.
As a casual staff with Glo, I normally get sim cards to sell and make some money. The incident happened when we were going to the mosque to observe the 4pm prayer. On our way, we saw some people arguing and they didn’t allow a car to enter the plaza.
As the argument continued, I heard an explosion and immediately, I saw human flesh and bones littering everywhere. I was confused and I didn't know what I was doing again. I thought my head had been blown off by the blast. I touched my head while on the ground and realized that it was there. I stood up and was looking for help, but help didn’t come immediately.
The bomber bought newspaper from me – Michael Ojeh
Nineteen -year-old Ojeh said the bomber first bought a newspaper from him and asked irrelevant questions before leaving to enter his vehicle.
“One man wearing caftan came to buy a newspaper from me and was asking me irrelevant questions. Even when I wanted to give him his change, he wasn’t ready to collect it. He kept asking me irrelevant questions. If I answer him, he would laugh and ask another question. Afterwards, he left and entered his vehicle close to the exit gate of the plaza. It was not long after he left that there was an explosion and I saw myself on the road before the police came .”
I’m still searching for my husband – Uche Ojeh
Mrs Ojeh, who is Michael's mother, said she was still searching for her husband, Rufus.
She said:
“My husband left home around 5 am on Thursday. My son, Michael helps someone to sell newspapers by the plaza. I have seen my son but I have not seen my husband. My son told me he saw his father as he went to pick a passenger. He gave Michael some money and said after dropping off the passenger, he would go and watch the Nigeria- Argentina World Cup match at home.
He wanted Michael to follow him but the boy said no. Michael said a man who came to buy newspaper was using delay tactics by asking him questions and immediately he (bomber) left, the bomb exploded. The blood of the bomber was all over my son’s body. As I talk to you now, I don’t know where my husband is. We are still searching for him.
Meanwhile, Malam Suleiman Bisalla, Managing Editor (Northern Operations) of the New Telegraph also died in the Abuja bomb blast and his remains were laid to rest yesterday in Abuja according to Islamic rites. The interment took place at the Gudu Cemetry amidst prayers and encomiums. Source
BREAKING NEWS : Hundreds Feared Dead As Bomb Blast Rips Off Emab Plaza In Abuja
An another massive attack in the city of Abuja, hundreds of people are feared dead as a massive bomb blast rips off Emab Plaza, one of the biggest and most busy malls in Abuja.
The blast, which went off at 3:57 pm, triggered a big bang that set the massive shopping mall on fire.
As at the time of filing the report, human parts, shrapnel and blood were flying about, as confused men and women, who managed to escape from the building ran in different directions, calling for help.
“I can see human parts and some bodies scattered on the ground but we are too scared to get closer for fear of another bomb,” a reporter at the scene said.
“Many traders and visitors to the mall are still trapped in the burning building,” the reporter added.
Men of the Police Anti-bomb Squad were being expected to clear the site before rescue operations could be carried out by emergency workers.

See Photos From The Kano School Of Hygene Bomb Blast Yesterday
In what was another devastating attack allegedly by the dreaded boko haram group, eight persons, mostly students, have been confirmed dead, with 12 others seriously injured in the suicide bomb blast that hit the Kano School of Hygiene, in Kano State, yesterday.
Briefing newsmen, the state's commissioner of police, Alhaji Adenrele Tasheed Shinaba, said the blast occurred at about 2.05pm when students were rushing to the school to undergo screening. The suicide bomber came with a rucksack on his back, pretending to be one of the students only to eventually blow himself up alongside his victims.
Shinaba revealed that 8 vehicles parked within the premises of the state owned tertiary institution were damaged as he ruled out car bombing of this latest attack. He also told reporters:
Every lead seems to point at suicide bombing. Unlike our previous experience none of the vehicles parked inside this school caught fire and there is no hole around to suggest a car bombing but all leads are still open for investigation”.
The Commissioner further disclosed that lifeless bodies of the affected students have been deposited at the morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at undisclosed Government Hospital.
He also said one suspect (pictured below) has been arrested and was undergoing interrogation at the police headquarters. He continued:

Police arrest suspect who carried out today's Kano bombing that killed about 8 people
Confirming the arrest, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba said investigations will begin immediately
"The suspect is in our custody, and the vehicle he used for the operation has also been towed to the police headquarters. We will get to know the motive behind the attack, and who sent him on this deadly errand." he said

I Regret Being Nigerian -said Monica, the girl who lost her mum In Jos explosion
In a very touching tale of pain and sadness, a student of the University of Jos, Nkem Chidebelu, who lost her 62-year-old mother, Monica Chidebelu, in Jos explosion said she sometimes regrets being Nigerian because of security situation in the country.
In an interview, Nkem Chidebelu told how she found out that her mother was affected by the explosion and how she had to identify her mother's body.
According to grieving daughter, she was at the main campus when it happened. "I heard some people saying that the blasts took place near the Jos University Teaching Hospital, and that was close to where my mum sold oranges and banana. She moved to that place when they chased them away from the previous spot she occupied.
"When I wanted to come down to the blast scene, one of my lecturers restrained me and told me to calm down. Later my twin sister told me about the blasts," Nkem said.
Together with her twin sister Nkem went to several hospitals to look for mother but they did not find her that day. "We prayed and hoped that she would be alive. None of us could sleep that night," she admited.
Next day, they started asking people who also had shops at the railways side of the terminus and were sent to check the Plateau Hospital Mortuary.
"We saw her at the Plateau Hospital. Although her clothes were burnt, some were still hanging on her neck, while her hair was not burnt. I recognised a piece of her cloth, because we had called home to ask what colour and type of cloth she wore. I also recognised her ear rings because I bought them for her."
"Despite recognising her clothes, we were still hoping that it would not be her. But when my dad came, wore hand gloves and turned her body over to show her face, the reality finally dawned on us. Every one of us was wailing. Her body was completely burnt. It was like a roasted chicken. I don’t know how to describe it," Nkem Chidebelu said.
Nkem Chidebelu doesn't blame anyone but believes that if the security men did their job properly, nobody would have been harmed. "Many other people I know were affected. My neighbour and her baby died. The baby’s head was severed and the mother’s body was mangled. Also, I would say the government is not trying. Sometimes I regret being Nigerian. Government should do more to protect us because Nigeria has enough resources to do this," she concluded.culled
Another Bomb Attack In Jos In Football viewing centre, atleast 3 Dead, Including bomber
The explosion occurred along Bauchi Road, near the old University of Jos Teaching Hospital in Jos North local government area.In an interview with AFP, Chris Olakpe, the commissioner of police for Plateau state, said at least three persons lost their lives, while three were injured in the blast. He disclosed that one of the casualties was "consumed by his IED [improvised explosive device]" but declined to confirm reports that it was an attempted suicide attack.
Earlier, security agents who arrived at the scene of the incident, said the suicide bomber was the only person who died. The team said the bomb he was transporting went off before he could reach his destination, a viewing center where hundreds gathered to watch today's football game, European Champions League final (Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid). The bomber's body was recovered from a Vectra car without registration number.
