''BRT Bus Did Not Kill Any Soldier'' - LAGBUS Official Says, Explains What Happened

Operators of BRT buses, LAGBUS Asset Management Limited, have come out to deny that one of their buses killed a soldier, as earlier believed.

Angry Soldiers went on a rampage yesterday around the Palmgrove area of Ikorodu, Lagos, stopping BRT buses, asking passengers to get down, beating the drivers, destroying the buses before eventually setting them on ablaze. The damage yesterday is said to be worth over N100million.

But speaking about it, a LAGBUS official said they had nothing to do with it, explaining that they only found a corpse in their bus and went to report it to the police;
"By 10 p.m. last night, one of our buses broke down at Onipanu; by 11 p.m., a rescue team with a van went to the scene to tow the bus. Unfortunately, area boys started stoning our team which made our men to leave. Meanwhile, the driver put on hazard lights and C- Caution to alert motorists of the breakdown. Continue...

“By 5am this morning, before the rescue team got to the scene, a corpse had been deposited in our bus and a motorcycle parked behind it.
“When we saw it, we reported the case to the Pedro Police Station, Somolu, but before we got back to the scene, soldiers had burnt down five BRT buses and one belonging to LAGBUS.
BRT buses were later withdrawn from the roads yesterday to prevent more damages. The man who died was said to be an army corporal. Source

Shocking : Suspected Cultists Beheads Driver, Dump His Body Along Lagos Highway

The headless body of a man was discovered along Olopo Meji, Oworonshoki Expressway in Lagos on Saturday June 14th.

The body was said to have been crushed several times by vehicles on the highway.

According to Punch, the body was later identified as that of 35year old Yemi, aka Topia, a resident of the area.

A resident of the area, Michael Oladipupo, told Punch that the dead man was the son of a landlord on Mabawonku Street. Oladipupo said Yemi was not killed by a hit-and-run vehicle as the situation suggested, but his body was dumped on the highway to serve as an alibi for his killers.

“I was called this morning (Saturday) around 9am and told that there was a corpse on the road. I came here and saw his body on the expressway. But as we traced its movement, we discovered that he was dragged to the expressway from a spot close to the Oworonshoki Bridge.

“After killing him, they dumped him on the road so that the scene would look like an accident. Vehicles and heavy-duty trucks passing by have torn his body into pieces so that people will not be able to identify him.” Oladipupo said
He said he could not tell whether some parts of his body were taken away for ritual purposes or not.

Investigations by Punch Metro revealed that Yemi was murdered by a gang suspected to be members of the Black Axe Confraternity, popularly called Aiye.

It was learnt from sources who craved anonymity that the victim, who was a driver, was lured out of his room in the night and bundled into an iron cart, on which he was wheeled to the point of the murder.
“It was the Aiye members that killed him. Yemi is not a cultist, but he had friends who were Eiye members. Because there was a fight between the two cult groups, Yemi was mistaken for a member and targeted.
“They first inflicted machete wounds on him, but when it appeared he was not completely dead, they dragged him to the expressway for oncoming vehicles to finish what they started.” A source said
Some relatives of the deceased were seen sobbing near the site of the incident, while others were overheard breaking the sad news to other family members on the telephone.

A relative was overheard by our correspondent in the telephone conversation, saying Yemi had had a misunderstanding with a man who threatened to kill him.

She said, “They have killed him. He called me few days ago on the telephone that somebody came to his house with his boys and threatened to kill him if he does not pay the money he owed him.”

When our correspondent approached her for comment, she said, “He was sleeping in his room when they cunningly drew him out.” Source

Workers Die Mysteriously at Chinese Factory in Ikeja, Lagos(PHOTOS)

What really could have killed these men?

Newsmen reports the dead men in these pictures worked with a Chinese company in Ikeja (name removed).

To see pics of their corpses as they were removed from the swimming pool, continue after the cut. WARNING: GR*PHIC CONTENT. VIEWER'S DISCRETION ADVISED!

Sometime last week after work, the men had slept over at the company.

Family to one of the dead men couldn't tell the whereabouts of their loved one till his corpse and that of his friend were found inside the company's swimming pool the next evening with blood coming out of their ears, nostrils, and mouth.

According to the one of the deceased's family member:
To my best of knowledge (I lost a brother to the pool, i.e got drowned). When a human drowns, blood does not come out from those places, what we suspect is foul play, perhaps they must have seen or heard something they were not supposed to see or hear, or perhaps the company is into shady deals.
Please I would like to let the country know about the ills of most of these companies, we know they have strong backups, more so this is just one case we know, the next may be someone close to you.

No fewer than six bandits in the wee hours of Sunday raided Skye Bank, Ejigbo branch, Lagos, carting away an unspecified amount of money. The robbers, said to be armed with AK 47 riffles, scaled the fence of the bank at Orioke, Ejigbo at about 1am and tied up the security guards.

It was learnt that the robbers subsequently broke the wall of the Automated Teller Machine and carted away the money inside. The operation reportedly took two hours as they did not fire a shot to alert security operatives.
According to reports, at the end of the operation, one of the private security guards, reportedly untied himself and contacted management of the bank who consequently reported the robbery to the Police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations, Mr. Tunde Sobulo, reportedly led a combined team of the Anti-Robbery Squad and Rapid Response Squad to the scene following a distress call. But the robbers had escaped before they reached the bank.It was learnt that the private security guards were being detained alongside the owner of a vehicle said to have been parked in front of the bank the previous day.

The unidentified owner of the vehicle was said to have surfaced hours after the operation to move his car when he was arrested by the police.Spokesman for the state police command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, told our correspondent that efforts were being made to arrest the culprits, but could not confirm to our correspondent how much the suspects had carted away.

Patrol teams were quickly mobilised to the scene where it was discovered that the thieves had entered through the fence, bore a hole through the wall housing the ATM and made away with a yet-to-be ascertained sum of money.
“However, the security guards have been arrested while efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
