Blind Man S*xually Abuses A 12 Year Old Girl

 Lagos State Police are investigating the case of a visually impaired middle-aged man, identified as Kingsley Anyanwu for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl (names withheld).

 The alleged incident is said to have happened at the residence of the suspect, 32, Mosalasi Street, Maza-Maza bus stop on Friday, June 20, when Kingsley Anyanwu s*xually abused the victim by forcefully having canal knowledge of her inside his bedroom, thereby inflicting serious bruises on the victim.

It was learnt that the victim started residing with the family early January this year in a three-bedroom apartment after she was introduced to Kingsley’s sister, Maurine, a staff of one of the new generation banks located at Oba Akran.

According to reports, the victim was until the unfortunate incident a housemaid to Kingsley Anyanwu’s old mother.

Trouble, however, started after Kingsley’s wife went to work. The suspect allegedly asked her to come to his bedroom, supposedly to help him read out a message on his phone.

“Immediately I entered his room, he grabbed me, forcefully removed my pants and molested me,” the victim said.

We gathered that the victim escaped from the house when the suspect allegedly attempted to r*pe her the second time.

 She later ran to a nearby church where she stayed till the next day. Confused and afraid to go back home, she sat by the roadside when the landlord of the house where she was sexually abused saw her and took her back home.

After receiving the beating of her life for running out of the house, the suspect and his sister returned her to her aunt residing in Ikeja claiming that she was wasting  food.

“I received a call from Mrs. Maurine on Saturday that they were bringing back my niece because she was wasting food and that she ran out of the house.

“On Sunday, Mrs. Maurine brought her home. When she left, I questioned my niece, it was then she opened up that Uncle Kingsley s*xually abused her.

“Immediately I took her to Adeniyi Jones, Primary Healthcare Centre. After medical examination the medical officer confirmed that she was molested. The report confirmed bruises I saw in her private part. The medical officer issued a referral slip to LASUTH.”

16-year Old Girl Allegedly Gang-r*ped By 16 Men

 According to reports, a sixteen- year-old girl (unnamed) was allegedly gang-r*ped by 16 adult men, after taking some alcoholic drink laced with unknown substance at a party in Ogbunnabali area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

 Three of the 16 suspected r*pists, Tambari Dumlesi (40), Ikechukwu Akah (22) and Friday Esau (27) have been arrested, while the remaining 13 suspects are on the run.

Speaking about the incident during a press briefing, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin told newsmen:

On 23/06/14 at 1800 hours, a complaint was made by a 16-year-old victim of rape. The victim reported that she attended a party at Ogbuga Street in Ogbunnabali, Port Harcourt, organized by one Tina. 

While at the party, she was given a glass of hot drink by Tambari Dumlesi. That was the last memory she had before she was r*ped by 16 different men. She woke up to find herself in torn boxers and with swollen private parts.”

He also said the victim had since been taken to the Police Clinic for check up and treatment, adding that the apprehended three r*pe suspects would remain in police custody while investigation lasts. Meanwhile, the frail looking girl, who could neither sit nor stand because of the damage done to her private part, was in serious pains as she appeared before newsmen.

TRAGIC: Men Gang-rape Teenage Girl To Coma In Ogun

  
The rate of increase in rape in Nigeria is going too high, its quite abnormal, just last week there were more than 5 rape cases, severe rape cases, please we need the government to intervene.

According to recent reports, a 16-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted by some unknown men in Ogun state.

The young girl, has been reportedly hospitalised after she was allegedly molested to coma on Monday.

The attack occurred at 8pm when she was on her way back home from where she was sent on an errand.

“A-16-year-old girl from Abeokuta in Ogun State was sent on errand last night (Monday) around 8 p.m.  to the nearby street.

“On her way back home,  hefty men ambushed her and got  her molested till coma. As we are posting this right now,  she is lying in sick bed at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.”

How I was Raped By 7 Men in Nigeria :Survival Speaks out ( MUST READ)

Hello, I am Habiba, I am not really sure how I should start. It has taken me a long time to convince myself to tell someone my story. I am doing this because I believe it will help anyone who has gone through something similar to accept that it was not their fault and help them move on. Well, this is the story of a rape survivor.

The incident: 

It happened when I was 13. I was walking home from a friend's house after a tutorial class and suddenly, a car pulled up beside me. Four guys about college age or older jumped out of the car and pulled me in. While in the car, they punched me in the face and choked me with one of their belts.

After a while, they pulled off the road and into a field where they dragged me out of the car, and kept on hitting me. They kicked me in the ribs over and over, and shoved dirt down my mouth. Then they tied my arms behind my back and my feet to small trees so my legs were spread apart. I knew what they were going to do and I fought as hard as I could, but they just kept hitting me. All four raped me and did as much damage as they could possibly do.

Afterwards they got back in their car and left, I had been unconscious long before it was over. I woke up in the hospital a few days later, I had severe internal damage. Although my father was outraged, my mother told me that I should just pretend that it never happened, not to press charges or even try to find who the guys were. Hmmmmm!

Fast forward and we are a few years down the line. By some cruel trick or twist of fate, I was set up to be raped by a friend. God, I really hope this helps somebody. I don't even know how it happened. I was drugged in my own room and 3 guys had their way with me.

Today physically I've made a full recovery, but emotionally I am still shaky. I have attempted suicide several times, life can't possibly be any worse. I cry every night for hours on end, I just need to be redeemed. I mean “Who is going to pay for this?”

Recovery:

Some of the things that see me through each day are MY HOLY BOOK, the music by Whitney Houston titled ‘Greatest Love of All’ , ‘Each Tear’ by Mary .J. Bilge and 'Stronger' by Kelly Clarkson. These three songs have made me realize that it is okay to be angry.

My mother and siblings have helped me accept who I am and what has happened to me. Thank you Mummy, you are the best mom ever :D, Mind you, this is how I found the Peace in me. I love listen to the radio. Thanks to my big aunty and friend, INYA ODE she made me to 'Forgive All My Rapists.' She worked with a radio station in the Federal Capital Territory, and it was in 2011 or 2012, I think. The show was called, SundayMelodies and her topic that day was all about forgiveness. She was so happy then, but she never Knew I Am a Rape Survivor. 

Yes, I still have anger, resentment, hatred, disgust and everything else that one can have over what happened to me. I am so glad that some of you have found that peace. I am still working to get there and I know that one day I will find that peace by the grace of God. I have realized now that indeed I WAS A VICTIM but IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. I have a long journey ahead of me. I know my mess will always be a message to so many people.

After crying to set myself free, I decided to forgive everyone who has hurt me one way or the other, including my Father who abandoned me and my mother for 15years, when everything happened. 

Thanks aunty, God bless your generation. Thanks to every survivor out there who has shared their story. The likes of @Bunmicake have helped me so much even just by helping me know there are others like me. Be strong and God bless you.

15 year old girl Ganged R*pe By 3 Men In Lagos

If police don't even take rape cases seriously, then who will??Three men have allegedly gang-raped a 15-year old girl at the Ikorodu area of Lagos, as the police are alleged to be threatening the victim’s parents to settle the matter out of court.

The state government had earlier blamed the police for frustrating rape cases by threatening victims and their families to withdraw their cases. Two of the men have been arraigned at one of the newly established Family Courts in Ikeja for allegedly raping the girl.

The suspects are being tried by the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender, OPD, while the third suspect is still at large. It was learnt that the victim was lured to No 23, Fola Mustapha Street, in Ajegunle area of Ikorodu by her classmate (name withheld), a 16-year old girl, on the pretext that she wanted to return a text book which she had earlier borrowed from the victim.

The victim was deceived by her friend who had already arranged with the three suspected rapists to have sex with her forcefully. The three suspects; Yusuf Mohammed, Rasheed Oyedepo and Tunde were alleged to have inflicted bodily injury on the girl (name withheld).

It was gathered that the raped girl’s friend deliberately delayed her classmate for hours and enabled the heinous crime by putting on the generator set, on the pretext that she needed to charge her phone.

According to the OPD , the victim wanted to take her leave in annoyance when it was getting too late for the her to return home, but her friend told her to wait for a while before taking her to a new room where she was raped in turns by the gang.

While taking turns to rape the girl, the noise from the generator and the music they were playing prevented the people outside from hearing the screaming and wailing of the girl. On getting home in a bad condition, the girl’s mother took her to a private clinic for medical attention.

She was taken to Ikorodu General Hospital for proper medical treatment, where it was discovered that her womb had been tampered with at the private clinic.

The victim was in a critical condition as she was admitted in the hospital for three days while undergoing blood transfusion. A new twist has, however, been added to the story as the police has transferred the suspects, whose cases are already in court, to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti for investigation, an act the OPD described as unlawful.

It was gathered that the police had gone to the girl’s family threatening the mother for taking the case to OPD, after which they transferred the suspects to SCID, Panti. It would be recalled that the government has established a clinic where DNA tests will be conducted on rape victims and suspected rapists to enhance prosecution of the cases.

Man Fails to Get an Erection while trying to Rape a Woman

According to IReporters, after seeing his girlfriend with another man, Sudan-born Khalid Abdullah cornered a stranger in an alley and held a blade to her neck in a jealousy fueled assault.

Khalid told the woman, in her 30s, that he ‘needed sex’ before putting his hand over her mouth and telling her to keep quiet.

However, Abdullah, 35, was unable to carry out the rape and told her: ‘It’s my first time, I’m sorry.’

He gave the terrified woman his phone and said: ‘Call the police, you can call the police, call the police now.’

The lady fled but Abdullah caught her and told her he ‘wanted to kill all women’ after catching his girlfriend being unfaithful.

She managed to reach her home in Peterborough, and raised the alarm. Abdullah was later identified through CCTV.

After a week-long trial at Peterborough Crown Court, he was convicted of attempted rape.

Judge Nic Madge jailed him for eight years and described the attack as ‘every woman’s worst nightmare’.

‘Whether due to the amount you had drunk or for some other reason, you were not successful in having s*xual intercourse, clearly that was your intention,” the judge told him.

‘You did not succeed in penetrating her and she did not suffer any physical injuries, but this was an absolutely terrifying experience.

‘It is every woman’s worst nightmare. The victim was terrified because of your anger and unpredictability.’

‘Abdullah is clearly a dangerous individual and we are pleased he is now behind bars for a significant period of time,’ detective Constable Louise Spinks said.

Rape in police cell: 11 Policemen face trial today in Benin

Heads may roll at the Abraka Police Division, following the rape of a female suspect, Mrs. Ese Isaiah in police cell, where she was detained. The woman was arrested and detained in the cell along with men, following a fight she had with a neighbour.

Two men were said to have raped Mrs. Isaiah in turn, even as she reportedly cried for help with the policemen on duty turning deaf ears. Following the incident, the woman’s counsel, Ejomasuvwe Efe petitioned the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 5, Benin, Alhaji Hamisu Argungu, who promptly redeployed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of the Abraka Police Station, Chris Sorgbara and John Olise, respectively to his office, pending conclusion of investigation into the incident.

Consequently, no fewer than 11 policemen, including the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) and Abraka Police Station cell guard, who had been in detention were expected to face Orderly Room trial today at the Zone 5 in Benin, in connection with Mrs. Isaiah’s rape.

Already, two men, who allegedly raped her, Enamuotor Akpevwe, 21 and Ugbede Obruche, 20, had been arraigned in an Abraka Magistrate Court, which ordered their remand in prison at Sapele, Delta State. Hearing in the two-count charge case preferred against the two accused persons had been fixed for May 3.

Pastor accused of rap**ng 12-year-old girl

A pastor, Alasco Sobowale, has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl (name withheld) in Epe, Lagos State. The pastor was said to have allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl at their home located at 10, Togodo Street, Temu Town.

The victim’s aunt, Mrs. Ngozi Anjorin, said the incident occurred on December 15, 2012

Anjorin said the victim only spoke Igbo Language and had recently arrived Lagos from Imo State. She said Sobowale, who also speaks Igbo, allegedly lured her niece to the toilet around 9pm and had sex with her.

She said, “My niece was sent to Lagos about two weeks before the incident so I could send her to school because she doesn’t speak English Language. She only speaks Igbo and only I and the pastor, who is our neighbour, speak Igbo.

“On that particular night, my children were in the room watching television but I couldn’t find my niece. I kept on shouting her name but I got no answer. I then proceeded to the toilet which is detached from the building. I knocked on the door of the toilet and the pastor immediately ran out and I saw her inside the toilet.

“When I inquired of her what she was doing inside the toilet with the pastor, she said he lured her into the toilet and covered her mouth with his palm so she wouldn’t scream. She said the pastor brought out his penis and forced it into her anus. She said he also put his penis in her vagina and when she discharged a particular fluid, he used a handkerchief to scoop it.”

Anjorin said Sobowale, who lives with his wife and children in the same compound, fled after the incident.

Anjorin said two days later, she reported the matter to the Epe Police Division and the policemen began to look for him.

It was learnt that two days later, the police were able to arrest him.

Residents told our correspondent that after Sobowale’s arrest, some of his church members accused a six-year-old girl of bewitching the pastor and had her flogged and paraded.

A source, who craved anonymity, said, “Sobowale is not actually the head pastor. His wife is the senior pastor of the church known as Okiki Imole. A few days after the incident, a six-year-old girl was branded a witch and accused of manipulating the pastor to commit the dastardly act.

“The poor girl was beaten up and paraded round the town. They said when the pastor was conducting deliverance for her; her spirit took over his body.”

Anjorin said the alleged rape victim was rushed down to Epe General Hospital where tests were conducted on her.

A copy of the doctor’s report made available to PUNCH Metro, stated that the victim’s “vaginal hymen is no longer intact and bruises were observed in the anal region.”

The report further stated that there was sperm residue in the victim’s private part and it was concluded that she had been sexually assaulted.

A doctor, who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said because Sobowale had not provided his sperm sample, it was impossible to ascertain if it was his own sperm that was found in the victim’s private part.

PUNCH metro learnt that Sobowale was released a few days later and charges against him dropped.

Anjorin however protested the development, adding it was not safe for her niece to live in the same compound with Sobowale.

A neighbour, who craved anonymity, said it was the habit of policemen in the area to cover up such crimes.

“Whenever a crime of this nature occurs, the police would ask the suspect to offset the victim’s hospital bill and then grant the suspect bail. It is very common in areas like Epe because it is not situated in the metropolis,” he said.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed that the girl was raped.

Braide said the police had not taken sides, adding that the pastor was released on bail because courts were not in session.

“The pastor is in charge of a white garment church in the area. He will be charged with sodomy. He was released on bail because courts are not sitting but once courts resume, he will be charged,” she said.

70 year old man r**pes 12 year old girl

A 70 year old man, Saidi Materi of Tunga-Goro, Minna, Niger State has been remanded in prison custody for r**ping a 12 year old girl in his bedroom.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Abdullahi Aliyu had told the Magistrate Court presided over by Hassan Mohammed, that the octogenarian had on the sometime in November this had carnal knowlegde of  the girl without her consent.

The girl allegedly went into the old man’s apartment to drink water when she was allegedly raped.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Inspector  Aliyu however prayed the court to remand the accused person in prison to allow for further investigation and transfer of the matter to a court of competent jurisdiction.

Woman Seeks Refuge In Police Station But Ends Up Being Raped By Corporal

November 10, 2012, will be a red letter day for Mrs. Maureen Anyalebechi, from Umukabi  Autonomous Community, in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State when she decided to pass the night at the Umuguma Police Station following her inability to locate the residence of her brother in the World Bank area of Owerri West Local Government Area.

Mrs. Anyalebechi had firmly believed that the police station was her safest option as it was already late in the night and she had with her, a seven-month-old baby. That move will be one she’ll later live to regret.

On getting to the station, Mrs. Anyalebechi met Corporal Chigozie Odenigbo who would later turn out to be her rapist and another female police officer. She narrates her ordeal: “When I discovered that it was late  to continue searching for my brother’s place, I decided to go to the nearby police station, to beg them to accommodate me for the night because it was already late.

“As  I went in there with my baby, I met two police officers, a lady and a young man, and after explaining my situation, the male officer asked me to follow him to one officer’s house, where he claimed mosquitoes would not bite my baby and I thanked him and followed him innocently, but to my greatest surprise, the policeman pounced on me. He hit me from behind and before I knew what was happening, he snatched my baby from me and flung him away. He was holding me by the throat to stop me from shouting for help and started raping me.”

She revealed that upon satisfying his sexual urges, he helped her to her feet and also picked up her baby and took them back to the station. According to the victim, when they came back to the police station, the female officer was alarmed to see that she was dishevelled and asked Corporal Odenigbo for explanations but he denied ever doing anything to her.

Mrs. Anyalebechi said that she had to report the matter to the Divisional Police Officer, when he arrived for duty in the morning, who promptly ordered the arrest and detention of Corporal Odenigbo but was later released. Sensing that the police wanted to cover up the crime, she had to contact a lawyer, who took her to the Imo State Police Commissioner, Bolanta Adisa, last Friday, who summoned the DPO of Umuguma Police Station.

Upon the confirmation of the rape assault on the nursing mother, CP Bolanta ordered the arrest of Corporal Odenigbo, promising that thorough investigation would be carried out.

He said that if found culpable, the policeman will be prosecuted and dismissed from the Force.

Meanwhile,  the police spokesman, Mr. Vitalis Onugu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said that Corporal Odenigbo will face administrative  trial.

It was also gathered that this is not Corporal Odenigbo’s first time of committing rape as he was alleged to have  sexually assaulted  a female officer  some months back.

Man, 32, rap*s 9-year-old

An Osogbo Magistrate Court yesterday remanded a 32-year-old man, Akinboye Adewole, in prison for allegedly raping nine-year-old Abosede Aluko.

He was said to have committed the offence on the 14th of October, 2012 at the Olorisaoko area of Ikire, Osun State.The accused pleaded not guilty, while his counsel, Abimbola Ige, prayed the court to grant him bail. But Magistrate Olusola Aluko adjourned the case to November 28, 2012.

CYNTHIA’S M**RDER: Lawyers hail FG plan to ban `r**pe drug’

 Lawyers and social critics on Friday commended the Federal Government’s move to ban the sale of the ‘date rape drug’, allegedly used to k**l Miss Cynthia Osokogu.

They gave the commendation in separate interviews in Lagos.

The Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday in Abuja resolved to ban the sale of rophynol drug.

`Rohypnol’, clinically known as Flunitrazepam, a sedative with hypnotic effect was used to lure late Osokogu to complacency and later k**lled.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, said after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that the government planned to ban the drug because of the need to curb its disastrous use.

He said that the Act No. 43 of 1989, which established the National Drug Formulary and Essential Drugs List, empowers it to prohibit importation and manufacturing of any drug not on the list.

A Lagos based lawyer and founding member of the African in Democracy and Good Governance (ADG), Mr Edwin Nebolisa, said the decision appropriate.

He said that the ban was informed by the ugly trend of the abuse of the drug by the youths, and stressed the need to check the excesses of youths, which was becoming worrisome.

He also said that pharmacy stores and hospitals should be discouraged from dispensing such drugs because it had become a means of facilitating incidence of r**pe.

A facilitator with the Legal Defence and Assistant Project (LEDAP), Mr Noel Brown, also aligned with the decision of the government and advocated the ban of other sedative drugs.

Brown described as alarming made in which youths take to drugs in quest for adventure.

“R**pe, by its nature, constituted an act of gender violence. Employing the use of sedatives is simply devilish and must be treated with the highest level of disdain,’’ he said.

He advised parents to watch the types of company their wards keep, stressing that evil acts pollute good manners.

Mr Spurgeon Ataene, a lawyer, said that it was rather inconceivable that teenage boys had formed the habit of luring girls with the use of sedative.

“They do this to weaken their victim and get away with the heinous acts. Eventually, some of these drugs end up claiming the lives of their victims,’’ he said.

He, therefore, called for full implementation of the ban, adding that government should decisively deal with offenders who go against the policy.

In August, four accused persons, Echezona Nwabufo 33, Ejike Olisaeloka, 23, Orji Osita, 32, and Maduakor Chukwunonso, 25, were paraded by the police in Lagos for the murder of Osokogu.

They told the police, how they met, drugged and strangled their victim, in order to steal her money.

The accused, currently in prison custody, were arraigned before a Yaba Magistrates’ court in September for the offence.

Pharmacy Owner Arrested After Defiling 2 Years Old Girl And Giving Her N25 To Buy Sweets

 A popular businessman in Ogoja, northern Cross River State, southsouth Nigeria, has been arrested for allegedly raping a two-year old girl (name withheld).The man, Mr. James Eze, was detained by the police after he was arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of the child.

Eze, who owns a well-known Edoh Pharmacy located on I, Mission Road, Igoli Ogoja, allegedly lured the girl into his office where he defiled her and thereafter gave her N25 to buy sweets.

Eze was alleged to have defiled the girl for ritual purposes as he “collected the blood that gushed from the girl’s private part with a white handkerchief. The handkerchief is now with the police,” an eyewitness says.

Mrs. Josephine Ibeh, the mother of the victim who owns a beer parlour at the back of the building where Edoh Pharmacy is located, said her daughter came back and told her that blood was coming out of her private part and on close examination she realised that she had been defiled.

“I saw that her private part had wound and was bleeding profusely, and when I asked her what happened, she told me that Edoh put his penis inside her,” Ibeh said.Mrs. Ibeh said the girl’s private part was severely damaged by the suspect and when she confronted him, he gave her money to pacify her.

“When I confronted Edoh, he brought out N50,000 and told me to take the girl to the hospital, saying that it was the devil that pushed him to do it,” she said as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Mrs. Eze said the matter was reported to the police at the Divisional Headquarters in Ogoja and the man was arrested while the girl was taken to the General Hospital Ogoja where she was stitched.

A doctor at the hospital, who pleaded anonymity, says the girl had “four stitches as the tear was deep and the lacerations caused by the forced entry wide.”A source at the Divisional Police Headquarters confirmed that Edoh is in their custody and may not be given bail immediately going by the inflamed passion in the town over the act.

“We suspect ritual purpose for the man’s act because that man is rich enough to have any woman of his choice in this town. The white handkerchief the man used to collect the blood is in our custody,” the police source said.

The matter, the source added, would soon be transferred to the state police Command Headquarters in Calabar

Policeman R**pes Nursing Mother Inside Police Cell

A nursing mother detained at Soro Police station in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of 

Bauchi State has allegedly been r**ped by a police constable. Hafsat Manye was allegedly raped twice by one Constable Halilu attached to the Soro Police Station at the police premises in the dead of night.

Narrating her bitter experience, a relative of the victim who pleaded anonymity said Hafsat lost consciousness while being s**xually assaulted by the police officer. He said Hafsat sustained injuries on her back and private part as a result of the incident and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Hafsat was arrested and detained along with one Alhaji Audu at Soro Police station over allegation of conspiracy and culpable hom**cide following a report lodged at Soro police station by one Mallam Alhaji Buba. She was with her baby, Hashimu, who was less than a year old at the time she was arrested and detained, the relation said further.

According to him, late in the night in her separate cell where she was kept, the police constable came to her pretending as if he was empathising with her when her child was crying and then directed her to come out.

He said that as she came out, the police constable took her to a place within the station where there was a kind of iron bed placed on the floor and a mat on the side.

The relative said further that the police officer laid the mat on the iron-kind of bed and ordered her to lie down on it. “She wanted to raise an alarm but the police officer quickly cautioned her with a threat to shoot her with a gun in his hand if she dared to make any noise.To avoid unpleasant situation which could lead to death, she lay down and he had sexual intercourse with her,” he said. 

He added that after satisfying himself, the officer took her back to her cell with a warning that a grave consequence waited her if she dared to tell anyone what happened. Not yet done, “the officer came to her cell the following day, like the previous night under the cover of darkness and ordered her for sex. his time around she became unconscious.” The incident was confirmed to Daily Sun by Hanbal Muhammed Zubair, the Bauchi state coordinator of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria (LECON). 

According to Zubair, “Our client became unconscious due to injury she sustained on her back from one sharp iron on the bed and her private part which in spite of her weeping did not make the officer budge.”

Zubair said that it was in this unconscious state that two officers who were at the station met Hafsat in the morning and took her to Soro General Hospital where she was admitted for two days and discharged. 

“The medical officer kept coming from the hospital to monitor her recovery in the cell,” he said.

The LACON state coordinator said that the criminal act of the officer was brought to the attention of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), adding that, “We are equally informed that the case had been reported at the Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in the state headquartres.”

But Zubair expressed concern that there was a deliberate effort to “treat this heinous crime alleged to have been committed by the policeman with kid’s gloves in the guise of esprit-de-corps. This is totally unacceptable.” The LACON coordinator urged the Commissioner of Police in the state to direct a fresh investigation into the case. “If the officer involved is found to have a case to answer, then he should be treated like a common criminal and face the full wrath of the law,” he added

The Bauchi State Police Command in a letter addressed to the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria dated September 28, said investigation had been concluded... The question then is: What's the outcome of the investigation? Is anyone being prosecuted? Of it's a case of 'no case'?

PATHETIC:16-year old girl gang-r*ped in SUV for 5 days

A sixteen-year-old girl from the city of Jaipur in India survived a 20-day ordeal where she was repeatedly r*ped by five youths in a forest near a village in Ajmer district. 

 According to a report in The Times of India, the teenager managed to escape and inform her family who then approached the police. 

 During the entire period, the girl was confined in an SUV in which she was allegedly kidnapped. The report says the girl was at her aunt’s house for the summer holidays when she was abducted.

 “She says that she was kept in the car for 20 days and the five youths took turns to rape her. She says she was repeatedly rap*d,” the report quoted a policeman as saying. The victim claimed that she was made to eat and sleep in the car only.

Three Young Women R*pe 20-Year-Old Man In Zamfara State

Many bizarre stories come out of Nigeria these days, but the one that came out of Gusau, Zamfara State this weekend will surely rank as a world-beater.

According to newspaper reports, three women were arraigned before a Higher Shari’a Court in Gusau for allegedly r*ping a 20 year old man. The man, Abdulrahman Sulaiman, was a Man-O-War volunteer who went to the Women Multi-Purpose Center in Gusau to help organize a preaching session organized by the state’s Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs for women during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the police prosecutors three women, Hannatu Ibrahim [23], Wosila Hassan [20] and Rukayya Hassan [21] conspired among themselves and serially r*ped Abdulrahman until he lost consciousness! How did this happen? The prosecutors said they lured him into a corner of the Women’s Centre, where they “forced” him to made love with them in turn until poor Abdulrahman fell unconscious. It was said that he was rushed to hospital, where he was resuscitated. The three women have now been remanded in prison custody until Monday next week, when witnesses will be called to the court to testify against them.

I suspect that half of Gusau town will turn up in court on that day to hear the evidence against the three “conspirators.” If the three women and the man in question actually did what they were alleged to have done 1] at a preaching session 2] during the month of Ramadan 3] when the centre was brimming with other women and children, then it will be a new low in religious morality in this part of the world.

The evidence will however be very interesting and it may force this country’s lawyers and jurists to have to rewrite the law on r*pe. Some years ago, I heard a senior lawyer say on television that the law on rape as it stands today does not envisage a woman r*ping a man, unless if he is a minor who is seduced by a much older woman. Otherwise, the lawyer said, “a woman cannot really r*pe a man because it requires his willing cooperation” to effect the act.

It will be interesting to see if the witnesses will say Abdulrahman shouted for help while he was being raped. Or what the three women used to force his cooperation---a gun or a knife, for instance. Anatomically speaking, while a man can successfully rape a woman who is not cooperating but who goes limp at gunpoint, the same can hardly be said of the reverse case. A man who has a gun or a knife pointed at him and goes limp cannot be successfully r*ped!

My only fear with this story is that many men in Gusau and around this Nigeria will wistfully wish that they were the ones that were raped. Mark you, the three alleged “conspirators” are young women hardly out of teen ages. They will find many willing takers in Gusau and elsewhere in Nigeria without resorting to any force! In fact, if someone were to call for male volunteers to be r*ped, in this Nigeria, the queues will be longer than the men who lined up at the Hisbah Office in Kano to marry widows and divorcees!

Man,24 R*pes His Step Mother

A 24 year old political science student, currently studying at the Benue State University has r*ped his father's wife after he returned home from school on Tuesday morning to ask for his outstanding school fees. 

 The people of Obu Branch- Otukpa in Ogbadibo local government area of Benue state witnessed the most abominable act when Johnson Alechenu, who is currently studying at one of the states' owned Universities, popularly known as BSU returned home from school on Tuesday morning to devour his father's wife. 

Problem started when Mr. Alechenu left the house in anger after his son returned to demand that his pending school fees be given to him so he could go back to school the next day. Mr. Alechenu who claimed that the money he made from palm wine business the previous month went to Johnson's house rent said he was not ready to part with any sum within this period.

 It was reported that Johnson had threatened to deal with his father if nothing was done immediately. In response to Johnson's threat, Mr. Alechenu left the house to go and cool down his anger with one or two bottles of beer. 

While he was away, Johnson had committed a taboo of raping his father's second wife Erina. Erina who reported the incident to his husband around 12 am when her husband returned from a nearby beer-parlour cried out in the compound, attracting many residents of the area to Mr. Alechenu's compound. 

Speaking with our correspondent, Erina said " Anytime his father leaves home to take some beer, I usually wake up to see him on top of me, but today, I woke up to see his son on top of me. I started dragging with him until he overpowered me. This is an abomination, and I beg our community to do something drastically before it gets out of hand". 

Also speaking to Mr. Alechenu, he said "my son came back from school to threaten that he was going to deal with me if I did not give him his school fees. After his threat, I Ieft for the beer parlour joint to take some bottles. However, on my return, both my son and my wife were making counter allegations against each other. Right now, I don't even know what to believe anymore. While speaking with Johnson, he had claimed that his father's wife Erina seduced him while they were both in the parlour. 

According to him "contrary to people's belief that I raped her, we both agreed on something before it happened. Just like the devil could manipulate peoples thinking, so our thoughts were so similar that we had to lie on the same bed. Even though my action was bad, she was the one who showed me signs, and I got seduced. Even at that, we spoke and agreed on this before we had it. I did not rape her as she claimed. 

Asking Mr. Alechenu whether legal action would be taken against his son, he said there would be no need for that since the community elders as well as the family members were currently investigating the case. Another community member, Mr. Atama, a school Headmaster who spoke with our correspondent said it was not possible for a man to rape a woman just like that. According to him, "there must have been an agreement before such thing can be done, and I think that was what happened in this case".

2 men nabbed for r*ping 4 and 6-year-old girls

KANO State police command nabbed two middle-aged men for allegedly r*ping a six and four- year- old girl.

 The Kano state police command Mr. Idris who also disclosed that one Abubakar Ya’u,a 20-year-old of Ladan village in Minjibir local government lured a six-year- old girl into his room and r*ped the innocent girl, while another man, Ismaila Jibrin lured a four-year-old girl into his room in the abscence of her parent and raped her. 

According to him, the two who are now in police custody had confessed while doctor’s report also confirmed that they committed the offence.

WHAT A SHAME: Two Policemen Arrested For R*pe Of 15-year-old Girl

Two police corporals have been arrested and detained on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Mrs. Kalafite Adeyemi, for r*ping a 15-year-old girl in Ilesa.

 Newsmen learnt that the girl was passing by Ayeso Police Station in Ilesa on Tuesday night when the armed policemen dragged her into their apartment beside the station and allegedly r*ped her. 

 A source gave the name of the victim as Bisola. Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mrs. Sade Odoro, on Wednesday said, “They (policemen) cannot escape because this is a command known for discipline. “They were arrested immediately and they have been transferred to Osogbo. Their dismissal is guaranteed. 

The girl has been taken to the hospital for treatment.” Criticisms have greeted the action of the policemen with a cross-section of members of the public condemning the act. A native of Ilesa, Mr. Seyi Akingbehin, called for a thorough investigation into the case, adding that the policemen must be brought to book if found guilty.
